Hey there,

this looks very stable and overthought, maybe a little bit too shader-intensive. Would like to see more on this.

Looks amazing! Definitely got a good feeling about this. And I like the visual cartoony style. You managed to do that and still make it look like it's gonna have a lot of suspense going on. Bravo!

Hi KeithC . I remember you.

The first e.L.e not reach the necessary levels of quality. Well, that's what the publishers thought.

A month ago I found a hard disk at home with all the e.L.e material. And I thought, why not?...

On the road again...

Hey there,

Quote: "The first e.L.e not reach the necessary levels of quality. Well, that's what the publishers thought."

That's a shame. For the time when it was worked on, it was my favourite project (at least the screenshots looked very fine). The scenes looked very consistent and the custom work was just amazing. Could you roll out some info on it somewhere else than here?

I wish you and your potential colleagues good luck with it.

Very cool to see this project back. I see you're going for a more cartoon look with the shader. will the Characters and enemies still have the same proportions as before? It gave them a unique look.

Hey there,

so you changed the whole concept? I don't know what to say except that it's not so shader-intensive as before. Seems interesting though.

Would need to see more to really get an idea of it. But I'll let that be your problem.

By the way, I like the "morning" and the "evening" screenshots the most.

Yes, and may not be the last. I will try to make a video to show the gameplay, if this doesnt convince, the sooner the better.

I love that character.

I agree with TheK; the Morning and Evening shots are the best.

But, from you posting all 4, i am assuming that the day-night cycle is pre programmed? In this Post apocalyptic world, is there no electricity? It would be understandable if not, but, if there is, maybe have the light bulbs lit in the Night shots?

Anyway, this looks great, i will be watching this thread.

Yes the game will have day/night cycle.

Quote: " would be understandable if not, but, if there is, maybe have the light bulbs lit in the Night shots? "

You surprised me, jejeje, that's not a light bulb, it´s a candle. I love it when somebody sees all the details. Impressive, really impressive.

Tomorrow I will put a new image about the craft system. I have a curiosity to know the conclusions that you can do whith these screenshot.

When i said Light bulb, i meant the two lightbulbs attached to the ceiling....haha.

I realised the little wax column on the counter top was a candle! haha.

Just a little curious as to what happened to the rest of the team who worked on this and if you still have any of them on board.
If I remember correctly you had modelers, scripters and someone to mod the engine to suit needs required.

I cant find any of the threads previously created for this game using search, nor any of the videos you uploaded back then. It looked like an awesome game which really stood out due to the professional quality work being put into it and the innovative things being done with FPSC, which lets face it, was beyond anything ever achieved by any users at that time. (If you have a working daylight system then that's something still not been created by any of the good coders around here even today, unless your simply scripting the ambiance levels using a timer).

It was a disappointment to many that it never saw release though it appeared the game itself was completed as it was being publicized heavily prior to release (at least by yourself).

The most frustrating thing to folks around here was the lack of transparency, as mostly only screenshots and videos were displayed with no actual gameplay demo so they could get a hands on look at it and there was very little info on actual members of the team working on it. This may have been understandable with a publisher insisting on it but even that doesn't make much sense as most commercial games do provide demo's of some sort and giving credit to those who work on it is pretty much a requirement.

Do you intend to release this as a free game or commercial and whats the situation regarding licensing for media your using? I ask because you said you "found a hard disk at home with all the e.L.e material. And I thought, why not?". Of course you may be the artist who created all the assets but I dont recall you saying this and its a part of the reason many got frustrated in the first place was lack of info.

I really like the style and would love to see this coming to fruition this time. You have to appreciate that many were very disappointed when it was never explained in any detail how this game was being created and how many of the cool things being done with the engine were never elaborated upon. In fact, any questions regarding development were ignored to be honest.
Its one of the great things about these forums is sharing of ideas and knowledge and hopefully this time round you could share some of this know how.

I don't mean to be harsh or cynical, but if your going to produce a professional quality game you have to expect questions regarding development such as above and its only professional to respond in kind. Sadly this was never the case with the original game.

Whatever, good luck with this

You only have one life ... Abuse it well.

From the screenshots, it looks like the ambience level and RGB values are being altered over time and made into a cycle.

Hi rolfy. The first thing, thanks for the encouragement.

Quote: " unless your simply scripting the ambiance levels using a timer)."

- I'm sorry to disappoint you, only ambience, timer and shader variables.

Quote: "The most frustrating thing to folks around here was the lack of transparency,"

-You are right, I can only apologize. Now I´m completely alone in this adventure and manage the information. About the old team, I don't maintain contact with them, they were hired like freelances. I know that one of the animators was working in mercury steam (Castelvania).

Quote: "Do you intend to release this as a free game or commercial and whats the situation regarding licensing for media your using? I ask because you said you "found a hard disk at home with all the e.L.e material. And I thought, why not?"

-It´s a summary of the situation. Obviously, the situation was more complex. About the licensing, I have come to an agreement with New gravity laws (e.L.e owenr). Sincerely I didn't want that e.L.e was rotting on a hard disk.

Quote: "free game or commercial"

-At this moment , I don´t know. comercial (3 or 4 dolars) or free to play whit micropayments. I like the last one, but sincerely, in these moments I don't know how to do it. Do you know?

I hope cleared some of your doubts. apologize for my poor English.

Hi da2020. Overambitious, I think so too. I'll have to revise my chances.

The city sites to visit:

- Hospital.
- Supermarket
- Residential zone.
- Industrial area
- Asylum.
- Abandoned lab.

To move from one area to another will have to go through the sewers, because the exterior is extremely polluted.

first, my most sincere congratulations for your game. I hope you sell a lot of copies. I will ask advice when selling e.L.e. I'm pretty clueless in this area

Thanks for your interest, Ertlov. about your question I have not recieved any cash / advances from New Gravty Laws (they have the rights of ele)

I'm working on the e.L.e gameplay and the e.L.e post in indieDB.
This week I hope to upload weapons images, including some of the new assault rifle.

@dimoxinil, this is looking really original. I like the atmosphere. What happened to the screenshots of the shader intensive section?

Is all the media that you've used custom? Are you modelling the weapons/entities yourself?

I change the visual style, I'm not very satisfied with the appeal of the game. Now has a more hard and dark appearance.

Quote: "

yes, the 95% is custon media (entities, weapons, segments, music, textures, ...) aprox.

Today is the day of the weapons, more weapons in the next few hours.

@Dimoxinil: I really like the fine detail. The game feels athmospheric and seems pretty at the same time. While I really don't like this bobblehead style, I think that this is one of the more sophisticated FPSC games.

Out of curiosity: Do you have any little tricks or hints on how to work with FPSC's memorycap?

Your doing great bro!

My question to you is..

Are you retexturing these guns right now or did you make them?

and if you did make them..can i ask which modeling software you used?

This looks really good ive been really excited for a game like this to come out on FPSC because i wanted to do it but..i never thought it would be possible yet you make it work good job!

All are exclusive to e.L.e. Models and textures.

I currently use Maya (a license from the studio), This is very expensive shoftware. I would recommend Blender, It´s great and free.
