Or is this gonna be locked for political reasons? Didn't want to start a debate, just spreading the news.

I think if we're all respectful it wouldn't necessarily get locked. But I'm not a mod so I don't these things.

Either way, it is NOT the end of the world for those who don't like him, and he is NOT the savior of the world for those who do like him.

That's my two cents and I'm sticking with them. Although I would like to turn them into a quarter someday.

FYI, I am the only saviour of the world, you'll see come December 21st 2012...no wait, that was destroyer of the world, I always get those 2 mixed up.

Well, I guess congrats to the Obama supporters, condolences to Romney supporters. And I guess well done on another election. But we all know there's only one true President out there, me.

I think this is too touchy of a subject for folks to post their opinions on it, particularly with politics being against the AUP.

Let me just say right now, your chance of a second term Sep is somewhere between nil and negative one centillion. You've let us all down with your radical policy!!

To be fair, there wasn't really much of a choice. It was either Obama or... the other guy. And the other guy is part of a cult so that was never going to work. But at least he's not an atheist!!!

There's a brilliant line in the comic Transmetropolitan describing politics and voting. Sadly I can't quote it as it'll definitely violate the AUP.

I guess congrats to the winner, Obama, all the same. Enjoy your 6 weeks presidency before Dooms Day.

A good result.

For those who, like me, were rather baffled by the mechanics of the US Presidential election here are some very useful links explaining the process and its history:

For $3billion, you'd kinda hope he'd win.

Still, it seems to have been the slightly more popular decision. It's kind of a pyrrhic victory if you win this sorta thing by a whisker. I mean, there's still just under half the country that doesn't like him.

Curious to see how it goes from here.

Lol..I still giggle every time I see his sig.

I wasn't surprised at all by the outcome. My friends and I were pretty divided..but honestly I was flipping tired with elections and just glad they're finally over...

I can now smoke weed here in Colorado, we do not smoke it, I will not allow it in my house.

This well, scares the crap out of me in many ways.

That doesn't have anything to do with Obama. Weed is not all that dangerous. It's natural and actually has some medical benefits, abused it's definitely no worse than alcohol. You'll survive.

I find it interesting the drug war wasn't brought up at all during the whole campaign. Looks like people forgot it was still happening!

Still, congrats to Obama supporters. I personally am not bothered, I live in Scotland and I see politics (especially American politics) as entertainment. The problem with the outcome is that people were split about social issues mostly, but as far as foreign policy, the drug war, etc, it's all the same either way, by and large. Even the president doesn't have the power to really do anything about it, so it will be interesting to watch the USA's fate unfold.

You are talking to some one who used to smoke it, my whole family is addicted to it, have to have it, would sell anything to have it. Addiction is never a good thing when in deed most my family is brain dead from it,there is your effects, long term heavy use kills brain cells, this is fact.

This has to do with our elections,Obama was a part of that so was this.

Agree with Zotoaster, no matter who won the almost unsolvable issues would still be unsolved.

- Private debt
- Public debt
- Possible collapse of dollar(petro-dollar)

These are deep rooted problems for which all possible solutions are painful in some way.

Good luck to America though, I like Obama and I like America

Yeah but Obama had nothing to do with it on a personal level. If anything, he's been cracking down on medicinal weed dispensaries over the last 4 years.

Anyway I respect your limits. I think if you don't like it you shouldn't smoke it, but if you do, it's not for your government to tell you whether you can or can't. For that we rely on good parenting and common sense!

Also gay marriage has been legalised in a couple of states. I think it's a good day for progress in America all-in-all.

It absolutely is the role of the government to tell you what you can and can't do. If some people want one thing done, and some people want another, then they decide on what the rule should be through voting. Everyone should vote based on their own personal beliefs because that's only way that the government can accurately represent its people. At least now people will be less likely to fund warlords to get their marijuana - their choice, not the government's.

To other people, yeah that's necessary. If you're not causing any harm to anyone else, and all you want to do is get high, whether it's by smoking weed or getting an adrenaline rush by jumping off a plane, it's your body first, nobody else's. Now if you're gonna blow the smoke if someone's face or aim for somebody as you're falling from the sky, then the government should perhaps get involved. My freedom to swing my arm ends at your face, but until then I can still do it.

So you're saying alcohol has absolutely no negative health effects?
