Hi new to this so not sure if this is the right forum but I have purchased the xmas pack which includes 3d gamemaker and dark basic and I'm sure I read somewhere that I could use on windows 7 operating system,am I correct or not.

Yes, both will work on Windows 7.

However, bear in mind that out-of-the-box, neither T3DGM nor DB 1.13 will work without d3drm.dll, which is strangely included with the DB 1.2 update (which doesn't need d3drm).

I have a copy of d3drm.dll and its working fine.Still havinf problems with other software like darkvoice needing DBprocameradebug.dll.

As far as I know, DarkVoices is a plugin for DarkBASIC Pro, which is a completely different software suite from the original DarkBASIC.
