Hi All,

Has been a while since I have been on here, but I thought I would share with you something that I have been working on. I have been working on some apps with AppGameKit and found that very often I was looking to use models that I had in my FPSC Library in my game, so I decided to make a program which would greatly speed up the process, and I thought perhaps it may be of some use to others here as well.

I know there are already tools out there like this, such as SpriteMe and Model-2-Sprite, which I am sure are great! So this program takes a different approach as you can see in the video below, by using the information used by FPSC about each model to save you time.

FPSC-2-AGK Features:

*Loads your FPSC Entity Lirary allowing you to visually select a model to convert
*Loads all info from the entities FPE file so it automatically:
-Loads Model
-Loads Texture
-Loads Effects
-Loads Animations
-Loads and Glues Weapons to Limb
*Add Lighting
*Save Animation to a single spritesheet or multiple images
*Save single frame as an images
*Simple and Fast To Use!

Check A Video of it Out Here (This video is old, many features have been added since, i will upload a new one soon)

Interesting program Wizzkid, is there any demo to test it?
Can take snapshots from FPSC scenarios?

At the minute it just converts entities to spritesheets but I am open to suggestions.
There is no demo, however I am looking a few people to test it let give me feedback, so if your interested in testing it, post below and the first few I will send a copy of it completely free !

Hi Wizzkid, Yes, I'm interested in testing your program.
It would be great if the program could take snapshots of scenarios from FPSC to make side scrolling backgrounds or top view scenarios. Even for resident evil scenery style...

I believe you can take snapshot of in the game by pressing the F12 key while the game is running, though I could be wrong about that. Great! Just send me an email to: Ashley.hunter (at) hotmail.co.uk and i will send you a link to download the program!

Thanks

It's something I made in my spare time because it was something that was useful for me, I thought I would just share it on here as it may be of use to others, I realise there are alternatives, but it's helping nobody sitting on my hard drive so I thought I would put it out there, if any one else would find it useful then great !

I don't see nothing wrong with it, the more options to choose the better.

BTW, Wizzkid, I sent you mail.

If people make 10 clones so are there always 2-3 ones that have to be better then the old ones
And it have some usefull points as it seams to be aimed at converting specificily fpsc meshes .

Wizzkid, I have nothing against you selling a valid product like this in principle but did you ask permission from TGC to advertise a none TGC product on the forum first? TGC sell two competitors to your product which is not sold through TGC and while we may be happy to sell your product it is a bit cheeky to advertise it without asking.

Looks like a good product I have to say.

Hey baxslash,

Fair enough, I see your point. I did not mean any harm, I just wanted to share what I had made, you see people sharing their programs on the fpsc boards sometimes and I guess I never thought much of it, however I do realise that this is similar to some that TGC are selling and I don't want to peeve anyone off. I will remove the link above to buy it. If there is some interest shown i will get in touch with TGC after Christmas and see what happens, either way i don't mind as it was something I made primarily for my own use.

There's no problem sharing free tools but if you want to sell something similar to a TGC product it's best to check first. I appreciate you holding off until it's at least been discussed. I suggest you contact rick(at)thegamecreators.com

I may well buy it myself at some point

@Wizzkid, I heard back from Rick and he's fine with you advertising it here. You can put your link back up. Best of luck with this, it's a great tool

Great! I didnt have a chance to get in touch with him as i have been busy. Thanks baxslash and Rick! And again, sorry for jumping the gun before..

Anyway, Since I have taken the link down I have added many great features suggested by several of the testers, which I will add to the list above.

Thanks again

Just to let you all know, I am getting requests to be a tester, I now have enough testers so no more will be accepted.

Thanks to all those who got in touch
