well it's sorta old, but I wanted to talk about it anyways. what does this mean to some of you guys? can the Dark GDK work on the windows phone?

Both GDK and DBP use the DirectX engine, all mobile devices will use a form of OpenGL instead. There are plenty of languages, IDE's, API's, etc that can be used to develop on mobile devices.

Mental arithmetic? Me? (That's for computers) I can't subtract a fart from a plate of beans!

Windows Phone 8 uses DX at its core... unless this changed in the past sox months...

Cannot wait to buy myself a Win8 Phone and Surface Pro tablet!!!

The DirectX that would be used on the Windows Phone 8 would be a stripped-down version of DX11 more than a full version of DX9 that DGDK uses.

Honestly, if I were to make a Windows Phone app, I would just stick with C# over C++. That combined with the fact that I don't have any plans on developing for Windows Phone make this news not so big for me. I feel like I've lost interest in C++ these days!
