So im trying to add a flashlight for the player to use as a light source, so i put down both the scifi Torch and the WWII Torch. When you walk over either of them it says "Item Collected".

Well now what? I cant find any key to press that equip it (number keys 1-9 don't work either).

So how do I make it so I can pick up a flashlight (or Torch) and have it be an item that i can use to create a light source from?

Thanks!

The torches in FPSC are just models that you can pick up they don't do anything as such.

You will need to use a flashlight script with the models to make them become a torch that works.

Search on the forum for flashlights there many examples even one by myself and updated versions of it plus other methods.

You mean like this? S4real's v2 flashlight; works great.

There's no problem that can't be solved without applying a little scripting.

Ok, I got the flashlight to work, but it seems that the flashlight lights up the entire hallway.

I have this really LOOOONNNNNGGGGGG hallway and when the flashlight is off, it looks a bit too pitch black (which i want) but when the flashlight is on it lights up the ENTIRE hallway inside the hud's radius. Is there anyway that I can make the light sort of "falloff" or get less and less as the distance gets greater?

This would be super awesome if someone could help me with this.

But for now, the flashlight suggested by BlackFox is fine.

It should be noted the script posted by Corno_1 is for the "internal" flashlight of FPSC v1.20. The script by s4real is done with huds and his script controls the "ambience".

Figured I'd explain that so you won't get frustrated or confused.
