Hi all,

I've been experiencing problems with shaders on segments. If I am parallel to a wall and then I turn a few degrees left or right then the entire wall will light up.

See below:

Normal

Turn a few degrees to the left

This has been bugging me for a while, I've updated my gfx drivers and still no difference. I could turn shaders off, but to be honest I'm not aiming to remake a Quake 2 looking game.

If anyone else has encountered this, please help me with a solution.

Thanks,
Landman

I have had a similar issue. Well, i say similar.....i actually mean, exactly the same.

But, i used this to my advantage and it gave me the inspiration to make Impuzzable.

However, i wouldn't mind having some nice looking segments again.

Just out of curiosity, what hard drive do you have FPSC running on? I only noticed this issue when i started to run it off my SSD.

I have a GTX 460. All the drivers are up to date. When I said what type of hard drive do you have, I was trying to gather whether this is an issue related to FPSC running off a solid state drive.

Let's hope there is a fix for this.

All I can say is I don't get this issue, and I have the same media.

However, the closest thing I can think of related to your situation was when I slapped a shader on a non shadered segment. Because I'm still figuring out shaders and customisation on those fronts I must have done something wrong. I had a similar issue where the wall lit up on certain angles.

I don't know if the above is even relevant (probably just me not doing segment shaders properly) so there's not a lot I can say. But because it works for me, there must be a difference causing the issue. Are all the files there? Have you tried re-downloading? Just some thoughts.
