Tunguska event Anybody?

That is very interesting, and it even made BBC News!, Going by the Tunguska event, Is there some sort of geography involved in why Russia seems to be attracting such occurrences?

that's fascinating, so is the principal behind the explosion is similiar to plunging white hot glass into water, the meteors encounter critical friction at a certain level of atmospheric density and the temperature difference is extreme to the point where it explodes? Is that what happens?

intense.

Telsa has been dead a while

in all seriousness, I never realized meteors could cause such destruction without even reaching the surface, a reall eye opener.

I'm not a complete idiot -- Some parts are just missing.

I would hazard a guess as to say that it's a large but inhabited area of land near the top of the planet, so has a large surface area of strikes, and a population to notice them... but I'm not a scientist.

This event seems to be similar to the tunguska meteorite. i remember watching documentaries about this and what happened yesturday seems to confirm that. Also i love how the conspiracy nuts are all over this with their ridiculous theories.

There is a joke in russia about people of chelyabinsk being extremley hardcore and the meteor event in all its hilarity confirms this, many of the reactions on videos are like ¨wtf was that? "(is a calm emotionless voice)

dont hate people who rip you off, cheat and get away with it, learn from them
