I would be excited about this - except they ruined it... with that medieval recurve bow!

Seriously, a steampunk recurve bow might have been pretty cool - that thing just looks like they've been playing Crysis3 too much.

Hate to nay-say with this one, but it'll probably dispose of all the gameplay that made Thief great, and instead we'll have a stealth assassin game, with that bow. For me, the cool thing about Thief is how you can be inventive with your killing, or avoid killing - Thief has nothing to do with a specific weapon - and if it did, then it would be a blackjack!.

I got a fever, and the only prescription, is more memes.

I hope you're wrong about this one Van. I love the Thief games, so I am excited to see Thief 4 is coming out, but if they have managed to ruin it, then I will be sorely disappointed. Hope it's not going to dumb down tactics for action, fewer games are requiring thinking. Still, I recently picked up Dishonoured, which has a little bit of a Thief feel to it and I like the fact it gives you options and allows for inventiveness. So lets hope Thief 4 will have that element to it.

I loved the original, but somehow developers always seem to know how to mess up modern sequels.

Thief 3 did give me doubt in the beginning, but then I played it and it was still pretty true to its origins. Yea they gave up rope arrows for climbing gloves, but it worked.

The way games where years ago, show up some of the newer titles today. It seems that most new games go for eye candy and short cuts to game features, just so the company can profit on the title quicker.

I never got far in the first Thief, mainly because at the time I never had my own computer and wasn't experienced with FPS games xD

I might try this when it comes out, see if it upholds the original at all.

The original titles are selling pretty cheaply on Steam, I picked them up through one of their Steam sales. It has all 3, so prolly worth it if you're looking to try playing them again.

The first one is still my favorite, it has the best story among the 3 I think. Even with poor graphics (they're ok, but there were much better at the time), the levels had a lot of little details. A very atmospheric game that draws you into its world.

Looks pretty cool! But I agree the compound bow looks really out of place!

Great to see this! My all time favourite stealth trilogy until the game Dishonoured game along Let's hope they go back to their roots and recapture what they had in Thief 1 with 2013 visuals.

Hogging the awesome since 1999
