I haven't done any coding yet but I have an image of Zombie Donkey -- planning to give him a hat and maybe some more gory bits. I don't know why I chose to make a style of game that is so art-intensive, it's making me procrastinate a lot. I have a story-line in my head but I don't know if I have enough time to do it. It's going to be a dumb game but I am determined to get something playable.

My game is really awesome. I used DarkBASIC to make Low G Hobo Legends. The great thing is that the title doesn't specify what the hobo legends do in low G, so I just made it so you chase after a penny on the moon.

Enjoy! I hope I win!

EDIT: Updated April 24th 7:30 GMT-8.

I proudly present my Rand Jam 2013 competition entry:

It's just a simple point-and-click-to-shoot game that I made in my spare time. But it was still fun to create and I am a little proud to have this finished in time. Going through the whole development process from concept (even if random) to distribution is always a great experience.
I wrote this game in Processing, which is a useful tool for simple application sketches and cross-plattform distribution. The source is included in the download and you can check it out if you want to, but be warned that I hacked this together pretty quickly.

I hope everyone else can get their entries finished and learn a thing or two along the way, like I did.

Have fun creating and playing!

No sorry, the Processing SDK doesn't have sound integrated on a fresh install and I didn't want to bother too much with finding another solution...
Maybe I'll get an updated version with some basic sounds running until the 30th.

Is it running ok for you? Didn't have time to test it on another machine.

Yeah, it runs OK. What does everybody think of Low G Hobo Legends?

Pauli, it's quite fun actually! My Yeti Desperado high score is 9 (and I could only get the win32 to run, there was no exe in win64 and running the batch file did nothing even though I have a 64-bit OS and Java x64 :S).

Fluffy, It's nice to see someone still using DBC! The game ran fine but I would have liked to be able to run it at a higher resolution, my monitor went crazy for about a minute before it started. xD A choice of characters was nice, but I felt like it could have done with a little bit of polish Good start though!

EDIT: you've still got 6 days to improve it, don't forget

I've already fixed a couple of bugs. My game has sound, which is more than Pauli can say. Is it worth my time to improve it? Hmm... NO!

Thanks for trying it guys!

Not bad, mine is 16 so far. But I guess you also need a bit of luck with how the Yetis spawn.

Hmm, that's strange. I can run the game on my Winows 7 64 Bit by launching the .bat file in the windows64 folder! But I guess at least one of the supplied versions should run for most people.

You're right that sound adds a lot to a game but I don't know if I'll have enough free time to get audio support in before the deadline.

Im almost done with mine, I will just have to add a menu, and make the sword guys actually hurt the player...

Here is the current progress if you want to try the game http://berzanlabb.se/te11e/fraska224/MDA/

Everything is done in HTML5/javascript so there is no need to download anything

That's really good, Zoq! pretty hard though It would be really useful to have barrels and things act as half height cover, so you can crouch behind them and be safe from arrows but have your movement and attack impeded.

That's a pretty good idea actually... Maybe i'll add it once I get enemies with swords actually attacking. Thanks for the feedback

Can you please remove my name from the list, I've been really busy lately and haven't even started on it, so there's no way I'm going to get it done in time.

Another one flakes out.

So, I played All Night Arcade Shoot. Pretty straightforward. There was no sound. The pattern of the ducks was interesting, but then they all started moving in a straight line. I kept shooting them and then there were none left, just a grey screen, crosshairs, and a score.

Alright, I will now consider Medieval Dungeon Advance done. You can check it out here: http://berzanlabb.se/te11e/fraska224/MDA/. This was all done in one week using HTML5 and javascript. I am pretty happy with the way it turned out. If you try it, feel free to post your score here... Im interested to see how well people do. My current record is 22 kills and about 140 seconds alive I believe, though most people that have tried it have got around 10-15 kills.

Well, there's no chance of me completing Zany Hair Salon vs the Space Mutants (big shock)... turns out that not only does this end on May the 1st, but my final Computing work is due on May 1st, yay school.

However I'm probably gonna continue to work on it, just cos I love the idea so much.

Seems we have a problem here.. the problem being that many people are getting attached to their projects, and the time limit just being 1 month ^^

Just posting a reminder that we still have two days to go and there's no limit on how terrible your games can be! I will update the OP with everyone's entries on the 1st.

You can remove my name from the list as well, I've had absolutely no time for anything game-programming related.

Same here. I really wish that this had been next month. I've seen your other game jam, and I will definitely have something for that.

We are closed!

Well done to those who managed to get something submitted, and to those who didn't, don't feel too bad about it; maybe you got too wrapped up in your ideas, or you simply didn't have time this month. Either way I hope you learned some things that might help you finish future projects. BlandJam starts today so I hope to see some of you entering that too.

PS If you continue working on your game then post updates here and I'll add them to the OP when I'm around.

Cheers.

I've reviewed the entries and given out awards (these are purely text-based awards mind).
I rushed thought it a bit but hopefully there is at least one sentence that contains some useful insight.

Heh, thanks Obese! Yeah, I flat out ran out of time. xD The idea was simply that you'd be shooting as many enemies as possible before dying to try and get a high score. It was a massive change of plan that I made with like 3 days left though, originally there was gonna be multiple levels (you left through the doors), enemies in set positions and some kind of story, but I realised that was waaay too far fetched, so I changed it to this score attack arena idea.

Though as you can see, I ran out of time for that too
