I'm getting a ton of LNK2001 errors on 108v11 native vs2010 code when compiling the "Core" example:

list:

AGKWindows.lib(DataMask.obj) : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol "public: static void __cdecl std::_String_base::_Xran(void)" (?_Xran@_String_base@std@@SAXXZ)

can anyone help me?

Since pretty much none of the pre-v108 Tier 2 examples are up to date with v1076, never mind v10811, it isn't surprising to get errors.

If you copy the Core.cpp and CoreForApp.h files from the template_windows_vs2010 file to any of the example projects, it might work better.

Check the dates on those files in the Native\Windows_VS2010 project directories.

And the settings for the projects probably aren't quite right (the original templates weren't in the beginning). And I really hate that I cannot open just one of the Tier 2 examples (forced to open the 'solution' with all of them).

Also, have you installed the DirectX SDK?

Which directx do I need, I already downloaded 9.0c?

I didn't seem to get any directX lib problems now that I recall.

Will tell you what I get if I replace the core files.

The correct one is linked to from this page.

I suspect it is newer than 9.0c, but I could be wrong and it is the same version. And if you aren't getting any DirectX errors, than you are probably fine.
