Why is it that whenever I want to change the background color of my program (from DarkBasic Professional) it never changes (it just stays on its default color)? Please help me! It does that on my windows 8 computer all the time.

I meant your program code ...

You need to post a simple short program, i.e. the dba code, which gives the error. Otherwise how are we supposed to know whether or not you've made an error somewhere?

Your first post said the background never changes. If that code were run you'd never see anything anyway because the program should finish in an instant.

However, if you get that error with that code then you'll need someone with W8 to help you.

Edit I see what you mean. I think this snippet makes your point more clearly (but still no error 1003 - are you sure that's the same issue?):



If this is your problem then you simply need to add "set text opaque" to your code like this:
