Maybe a small demo of SKF1 should be in hackers online as an easter egg

Sounds good, but may some pics of the original would be nice to whet our appetite

This is the screen of the character select.
We decided to do a good fighting game, so i'm taking care of all.
Well is not complete yet, we completed 3 characters at the moment.

2 will be not selectable but unlockable.

Today we added some features :
- In App "20 Continue"
- In App "200 Special Moves"

- New frames for fireball trowing
- New Tornado kick
- New Super Uppercut

I optimized all the frames and powered the 2D Fight Engine with more options to get easy adding moves and frames.
Now we need to build the last 7 characters and we are done.
It can be the "M.U.G.E.N." for iOS and MAC.

I added Facebook in the game, as a free game we will have more players spamming on it.

Now i'm working on the network multiplayer again, to sync better and decide Host, Client who must calculate the collision.

And in few days i will post the screenshots.

You are building games in an fast pace
Its fun to see wath you are up to as you do some really cool coding.

But i must Point out that iam a bit confused over the character art so far ?
They look a bit out off Place compared to the pixelated menue art ?
But then so is this early art

I want to see them ingame Before i judge to much!

And the char selection art are maybe placeholders?

Dont take this wrong as iam here to give feedback to make your game even greater

Ahahah yes in fact we are using 3D -> 2D to do characters.
But as the first karate game i done have this graphic i don't wanna change too much.
In Italy there is a motto that say : "Don't change the old way for the new" ahaha.

Anyway, the game will not be too much based on Player VS CPU but on multiplayer.
In fact, will be free and i count to earn much on advertise as i done some experience to understand how they work. The iAd to work good need the right category, the right subcategory and also what the game include.

Edit :
Better i upload some screenshots, mu upload tonight is very bad.

Don't you like the icons for select?
Or don't you like the background for select?
What you suggest?

its more that the Icons are to Clean if you know wath i mean?

You could ask your artist to add some more detail to them in an paint prg so they fit better with the background.

Its to clear right now that they are low detailed 3d models.

I used to use a art prg for fun a whole lot af years ago called poser that gave these results.

It can easially be fixed with a simple art prg by making layers of detail over them.

You now like skin tone or face shadows.

But if its a theme with Clean art so should you not change a thing

Let the artist work and see how the end result are instead as alot change during the process of development.

Yes Cliff, the problem is we are doing some test especially based on the multiplayer and in app response of the users. To do statistics and decide on what to do in the future.
I think that what we are earning now can be invested on a long time game, like a Mmorpg or similar.
So, to deal with this long time developing, we need much mini games that earn medium-low.

Yes, we done a big quality jump from the Street Karate Fighter 1, but we don't have the right software and our 3D graphic designer never done 2D from 3D. Sometimes is very hard to explain him (looking at SF2 Ken and Ryu) which is the pose is assuming. He don't understand and never played a 2D game. Maybe he never played a game in his life.

I accepted to do the characters in this way only cause its more faster than doing them manually.
In fact i love the pixel art, but our objective is to earn much to buy some of "most expensive" Objects on TurboSquid, so we can save them and reuse for all the next games.

Have you some example of the improvements that this "Poser" software can do?
Thx Cliff.

No!
I didt mean poser improves anything
It where a software with prebuilt humans and animals you could put clothes on and animate in various poses to then export as a 3d file.
The end result looks something like your artists results where there is alot of detail missing.

And i dont mean he is using it.

Cheers.

Thx Cliff.
In the future i will study more the 3D engine for the race game and we will start to buy some new mesh to see if the graphic impact will be stronger.
But i always thought that is better a good 2D that a bad 3D, this is why i'm waiting to earn very much to buy the expensive object for our purposes.

If you have a Skype account add me : xgekk0x (the 0 is a zero)

Thx Cliff, i wanna start a thread on the "Pseudo 3D VS 3D" and on some projection formulas and/or how to calculate in the 3D space positions.

So we can talk all together about this methods.
I will also link some good pages and codes that i read in those days, and things i can't understand with some videos.

Uhhuhuhu going off topic in my topic
See you soon.

But you nead to go thru the whole thread to find the latest version as iam lazy and sloppy and dont update to well

And some of these code might not work on the later agk versions?

Very nice. I think fighting games are the hardest genre to develop and make smooth. I'm looking forward to this one!

The artistic style of the characters doesn't seem to fit the background or the effects. Why are the backgrounds so pixelated?

Congratulation!

It's not the kind of game that I typically play. But it looks like it is probably great.

Good luck with it.
