Has anyone sucessfully used notifications in iOS? I'm wondering how they work. Does the app need to stay in memory or is the notification pushed by something like Google's Cloud 2 Device Messaging (C2DM)?

Also wondering if AppGameKit plans to implement Notifications on Android and if it will use C2DM or if the app must stay in memory.
