I had problems with taking in-game screenshots. I use print screen to do it, but it comes out not looking like the game.

What would you recommend to use?

What? It copies screen as is!

On some computers, print screen doesn't capture gameplay if the game is in fullscreen. On my computer, it captures the desktop behind the window when a game is in fullscreen. I think this has something to do with Directx having control over the screen. I don't know. I use Fraps.

Print screen can sometimes have problems, like capturing alpha transparency, or ignoring 3D, even when taking screenshots from AGK.

I would use FRAPS, or use windowed mode and print screen (tends to be less buggy). At a push, I sometimes use the screen capture feature in PSP9.

print screen 99% of the times either comes out black while in game, or the desktop - however - if in fullscreen windowed, it works fine.

I wonder when this started happening? :/ i know in the past it worked fine with print screen... i think it was around 3-4 years ago it stopped working? I honestly thought my computer was broken back then x)

I think it started with DirectX 8 - when MS got rid of the 2D aspect and went totally 3D, I think that's when it stopped working with full screen 3D.

One way to check, would be to make a little 3D scene in DB Classic, and see if the screen grab works on that - I don't remember having any problems with DBC, just DBPro.

Does FRAPS take screen shots? I never used it because I hear it makes file sizes very large.

The free version of fraps only saves BMP images, so they get realy huge. If you purchase the real version, it will save png images. The videos are still huge though
