Given by the failure of Windows 8, do you guys support VALVe's move to Linux? In my option, I think this "rocked" the open-source world of Linux.

Are we really declaring Win8 a failure? I haven't used it so I don't know what the exact issues are, but from what I can gather it sounds like MS are trying to restrict digital sales, which Valve obviously would not appreciate.

I think Steam for Linux is a great thing. Hopefully it will bring more people to Linux; gamers and developers alike. I've been impressed with it so far, I think TF2 runs even better for me than it did on windows.

Windows 8 is ok, so is windows 7 and im getting tierd of microsofts stupid "security" features. If more games where on linux, I would go over there. Steam will help with that and I think that is great

That's why I still keep a dual-boot so I can use Windows if I need to. Saying that, Wine (Linux windows emulator) has gotten markedly better recently, and more games are coming out with Linux versions. 99% of humble bundle games have Linux versions. Battle for Wesnoth is a great turn-based strategy game that's free on Linux. You can probably get it free on Win too, I think there's even a mobile version for free.

I somehow managed to throw out my Windows 7 disk with a bunch of boxes so I guess I will be 100% Linux when I have to format my hard drive.

As long as it doesn't start fracturing the market (eg games made for Linux and not for Windows) then I don't mind.

Yeah, it's sad that some nix geeks are aboard of game industry because of their geekness.
