Hi, please need help. Long time ago I have bought Fallout New Vegas and Civilization V, both retail, for steam, on dvd's (with steam retail codes). Now in my local store there are FNV Ultimate Edition (reatil dvd...) and Civilization V Gold (same...). If I buy these ones, can I activate them on my current account with original games? Or I do need new account? When I have bought Settlers 7 Gold, retail dvd version for uplay, I wasn't able to attach it on account with original Setlers 7, but it was uplay. So what's with steam?

I believe steam will allow you to do this. It will either give you two copies of the games in your library (the regular and the ultimate editions) or it will give you the aditional content and the games as a gift. Atleast that's what I assume...

Their prices are pretty high, so I want to be sure.

Yes, I've done this before. Steam will give you all of the DLC from the ultimate edition, but keep the game itself and all of your existing data.

So no second copy or anything? Only "upgrade"?

Yes, it's only an upgrade.

Well then, many thanks, I'd go and buy 'em!
