This is for all new Comers who got AppGameKit v1 from supporting AppGameKit on KickStarter.

EDIT: ** This is the first time i'm building a Platformer **

a 2D/3D platformer Engine , Build and Play.

I wanted to do this .. but somehow the entire project got messed up.. so i'll leave you with the one file project you can organize it yourself... i am kinda super pissed cause for some reason.. it dosent work well when it is separated ... damn it.


Edit: Day 3 finished :/ an entire day for fixing the moving platforms and still when the player is on top of one , when the platform moving down since i use Physics the player will kinda "jump and fall about 10 pixels " it dosent mean that it dosent work but its just not 100 percent as i want.. will continue tomorrow

Edit: Day 4 finished , added PowerUps, Fixed some Issues with the Moving Platform, Grass/ Plants / Mushrooms
Finished the Enemy Animation. a Word about Enemy Animations.. after my Artist finised it we both have decided that this game is actually worth something :/ so ... i will not show you the enemy animation here you will have to wait for the Release at Google Play however this means that the Full Source Code will be presented earlier just without the new Animations that gonna be implented.
so overall you will get the full source code + google play app of it for free and also you will get a Game me and my Artist made with this engine which took 4 days to build but its not complete yet and i will not show here something that is not complete source-code wise. so just be a bit more patient.

EDIT: Day 6-7 or 8 ... i kinda cant tell
SOURCE CODE IS COMING TODAY! STAY TUNED
from that point on i will return to my original project, so you will have to fill in the blanks , some stuff is finished some stuff is bugged you will manage to track them as i made it as simple as i can.

KICK STARTER BACKERS , WE START TODAY!

Tier used : Tier 1 Basic Style.

1. Tile System - WORKS 100 percent done.
2. Tile Texture System - WORKS 100 percent done
3. Moving Platform System - WORKS 100 percent Done.
4. Enemy Entity System - Works 60 percent done.
5. Player Entity - Works 62 percent Done including 3 frames for each State , States: Idle,Run,Jump
6. 2D Physics - 100 percent Done since AppGameKit uses Box2D it is very easy to master and implent.
7. 2D World - Done 100 percent .
8. 3D World - you will be able to choose how you want to play , 2D or 3D - havent got to that part yet , waiting for everything else to be done , since on 3D you just add the Z value to it and it can be done in one hour.
9. Particles System - Done 100 Percent , again since AppGameKit particles are easy to use and master , it is very easy to implent.
10. Added PowerUps with some Visual Effects to it and Game Play Effecr aswell.
11. Android Device Testing - Works Flawlessly on 60FPS

in my NewComers Backers Platform App/Game you will be able to Build and Play in Real Time.
im trying to put as many AppGameKit features inside it while not loosing the 60 FPS advantage.

it will also inclue a full Video tutorial on Both Code and Game Engine, will be released for Android Market for free and also will be represented here with Code and Media Content.

yes i do , but i still dont have the enemy images\animations so
i want to hold it just a bit longer.
and to let the newcomers from kickstarter know that i am working on something pretty damn cool for them so they will start very quickly creating games with AGK.

OHH MY GOD!
i just realized that i have been working non stop for 2 and a half days with about 8 hours sleeping in between
today i started working on this at approx 10 am
and all i did today is FIXING THE DAMN MOVING PLATFORMS! and STILL ITS ONLY 99 Percent DONE! OMG!!!! ARGGGGGGGGG


ok good job fixing it damn... 12 hours (on/off) for fixing moving platforms...
we need some new AppGameKit commands! we MUST!!!

btw , the game works smoother without capturing it
also here you cannot see but the textures on the tiles are better then what is shown.. so the green line that is covering the tile is actually vegetation but also its not that clear cause of 256x256 resolution for the textures since we are forwarding this to Mobile Devices.

The engine is looking very nice, Halibop.

Having said that, the character who's smoking and the "leaves" floating across the screen, hmm... Not sure this would get through Apple's approval process using that imagery

when i saw the video, first thing i saw were flying "green" plants flaoting up like smoke. then when i saw the guy smoking i laugh so hard. keep up the good work and i be following this. this looks great.

OK so guys and lads im almost done with the Open-Source code

some stuff to know first:

i have not finished the enemy collision system not vs the player and not vs the enemy , what i have now is a normal enemy that moves sideways until its Xvelocity is 0.0 it changes its direction, there is no path finding or something like that..

Added more Build Buttons , Added one Trap , Added Two Power Ups.

this as an Open - Source Project can be much more then what it is now and i am suprised by the good comments it got here.

so please keep in mind this is the first time im building a plat-former there might be some bugs (and there are...)
the game theme can be whatever you want ...

and since this is for Kick - Starter users and for the benefit of this whole community and AppGameKit i cant really demand that you credit me if you will publish your work... but it would be really nice if you do, my name is at the start of the code.

all i have to do now is organize it a little bit.
and i'll do it in 2 ways.
one ... One file of code where everything is in one place. about 1500 lines.

and the other is where everything is separated with include files.

again , there might be some stuff that i did wrong so don't go like :" why did he did it like this and not like this... bla bla bla"

this is how i did it i bet there are gazillion ways to do it different and i would really like to see here your way with this engine as a base for 2D platformers. the 3D section is not done yet and i will make it soon.

after posting i will return to my original Project which is :
Nano 1.23 (Working Title) WIP which is something completely different which i dont speak off yet.

haliop, I'm responding to your comment in Cliff's thread... If you do as lilpissywilly suggests, then you need not make any additional calculations/changes for the character. I simply set the platforms up as dynamic (3) and move the platforms using velocity.

haliop, I know I can't be the only mod to notice the "leaves", can I suggest quietly that you make some new videos / screenshots that don't include "content" that is against the AUP before it gets you in trouble?

I know you well enough to know that you mean no harm and are trying to help people (and TGC) so just to make sure you achieve your goal please do as requested. The reference is unnecessary. Perhaps you could replace the image with an oregano leaf? I'm "reliably informed" that it has been mistaken for the current "leaf" occasionally not that I would know...
