I've been wanting to create a Medieval/Fantasy type project for a while now, but with The Kingman Project in the way, I did not have enough time to. With my part done with the Kingman Project and Wolf's Fantastic Fantasy Pack released, I took advantage of it and decided to create a Medieval Fantasy game!

This project will be quick and short, Aeralnu was created to finally build a Fantasy/Medieval game and get it out of my mind.
With that being said, lettuce get on with the story.

Story
The God of Bats, Meromes, has been forsaken by the people of Aeralnu for over 800 years. With the lack of worship and sacrifices you are finally resurrected where you were believed to have fallen. With your powers lost, you take up the sword and punish those who have forgotten you in your own temple.

If this game goes well, I'd be happy to expand it into a full game.
This project would not be possible without Wolf's Fantasy Pack.

The level design and textures look very nice, but I think you need to work on giving some more personality to the lighting, which at this point looks very "white". Never use lights that are white, or even close to white.

@GeuRCrayon- Love that picture

Hi GeuRCrayon.
I may have a demo out this week, if not early next week.

I'm glad you're interested.

@Bugsy
Thanks for the tip!

The screenshot shows Meromes' former Temple. Meromes is now replaced with a new goddess named Emae.
I took your advice Bugsy and added it into this part of the level. Although it only shows a slight blue tint in the screenshot, there are a couple of other tints.

This is looking neat. Dark and interesting. The earlier hallways looked a bit bland in my opinion, but the latest screenshot looks a ton better! Maybe it's the new lighting. And playing as a god of bats? How awesome is that. This could very well be the first Batman game done with FPS Creator

I wonder why GeuRCrayon would attach that, but hey it's not hurting anybody. I don't know what kind of rules apply to attached images though. But I approve.

Thanks Metal Devil! Being the Batman does sound pretty cool

If haven't noticed, in almost all of GeuRCrayon's posts, he always attaches an image like that.

AERALNU REVIEW
...............

I played it yesterday, now here's review for ya.

REVIEW TIME
............

LEVEL DESIGN = 8/10

Design still need more practice but for me,it looks cool and awesome.I feel Aeralnu level is bit same with Amnesia. Also,Great used of Wolf Fantasy Pack
and other model pack.Model pack 37&35 is a great combination with Wolf Fantasy Pack!

Lighting = 7.5/10

Lighting in Aeralnu is bit bland but still some of the lighting in this game are good, but not all of them.

OVERALL
.......

For me,this is a good start for Aeralnu Alpha but this game still need more improvement especially in lighting.Lighting is important just like a level design,if level design is good but lighting is bland the atmosphere of the game will also feel not the best. This game still can change the course of lighting, overall this game is good. Can't wait to play a full version of this game!

Thank you for the review danieleman!

I'll take that as a compliment.

And you're right about the lighting be bland, I meant it to be like that because catacombs aren't really too colorful.

Thanks again!

This image shows nothing special, all it represents is the dark atmosphere I am trying to achieve.

Posted this to remind people that this game is still in progress.

Thank you. I am not sure what you mean by mixed ceilings. Do you mean the ceiling segment style and the top of the pillar?

Dear PixelF, can you please provide a reasonable explanation why you started to downvote FPSC games on IndieDB yesterday?

Reviews & IndieDB

And I woould also appreciate some reasons why you voted Into the Dark 1 out of 10, while according to my Desura publishing account you haven´t even played it?

What? I did no such thing.

Email me and we'll sort this out.

NP, no harm done. I just was wondering because it seemed quite strange. We have had several cases of people downvoting the game although they had neither downloaded a demo nor bought the full version, so we pay attention to the reviews & ratings.

I think the random downvotes are trolls

To everyone else, I have had some weird bugs while testing my game. I am sharing this level not as a demo, but more as a bug test. I will like to see how it works on other people's computers.

Please do not redistribute. This file is only a bug test to see how it works on others' computers. Also, one bug that may or may not happen is when the player picks up the black orb and the game displays multiple huds and ends. If you find any major bugs please report them!

I apologize for not updating this a lot sooner. Too little happened for an update to be posted, but the past couple of weeks, Aeralnu has made tremendous progress.

Aeralnu began as a very simple game with almost no features. Up until the start of September is when I finally realized that I needed to add more things to keep players interested and to keep the fun factor higher. The first feature I implanted was the ability to read books and notes to gain information on characters and the land of Aeralnu. Of course, this is not the only feature added, I also decided to add features such as: weapon creation system, purchasable items, armor build-up, magic and spells, and much more! Weapons can be made from any anvil around and armor can be created when certain materials are found and put together.

This was a rather small update, but I want users to know that this is still being worked on!

Sounds awesome! These features sound really cool, especially the weapon and armor system you described!

Also, the screenshot looks pretty cool. Eerie. I bet it has a cool sound world going with it? Anyways, I'm liking this.

A small perhaps, but an interesting one anyways.

Yeah mate,

I really like your screenshots, so if you have any scripting requests, write me a mail.

At the moment I really like the medival setting. I try to get something similar, but I wait for reloaded and then I put my time into it.

What I mean: Your project is something I want to play, so don´t give it up

Corno_1

Make this forum to something a little bit better and release more stuff. So we can push the Request/NoobHelp threads aside.
