This was mentioned here a long time ago, and I've just discovered that it's still running, so I thought I'd repost it for those who aren't already aware of its existence

http://freerice.com/

What is it? It's a quiz site, where for every question you get right they donate 20 grains of rice which is used to feed famished people all over the world. Obviously that doesn't sound a lot in itself, but with enough people and enough questions answered, it really mounts up (in the first 10 months it had donated over 42 billion grains of rice).

It's supported by ads, so please disable ad-blockers if you use one.

Ah yes, I remember this, thank you for reminding me, I enjoyed using this site.

However, that's a lot of rice.

So far done 1240 grains.

Been playing steadily since late last year. I stopped logging in a few months ago because I didn't really care about tracking totals though, so the actual number is a bit higher I guess.
