Hi,

Do you guys sideload the AppGameKit Player on the OUYA by just downloading it from your gamecreators account, then going to the storage setting and running it from there?

Just wondering, as I have just received my OUYA.

Thanks!

Hi,

Here's how to do it;

Getting the player onto Ouya

1) First setup a dropbox account and save the player into a folder on your dropbox.

2) Use the Ouya browser and log in to your dropbox account and select the player for download.

Installing the player

1) On the Ouya main menu select manage.
2) Select System.
3) Select Advanced
4) Select Storage.
5) Select Downloads
6) Select the AppGameKit player to install from there.
7) To run the AppGameKit player go back into the Ouya main menu select make then software. The AppGameKit icon will be there.

Thanks very much, Rick!

I have dropbox, google drive and skydrive (all this cloud stuff.....)

I will use dropbox since that is the example you specified... but I'm guessing any of the above would do in order to get the file onto the device.

Thanks again!

Couldn't you just throw it on a USB stick...?

Unfortunately, it doesn't let you do that. You can copy the files across via USB, but the device doesn't actually see them for some reason... The only way I've managed to get it to work is as per Rick's advice above...

Yep, as long as you are downloading it.
