Found this 'Colour acuity test' this evening, thought I'd share. All you have to do is correctly arrange the spectrums of colours.

I got a perfect score of 0, see what you come up with!

Wow, 50. That's pretty bad.

I suspect monitors can affect the score, but I suppose even then, wow I suck.

I got seven. Interestingly all my errors were bunched into two little groups on either end of blue. I suppose this isn't a definitive test since everyone's monitor is different but if you get scores like 50 I think you might have some level of colour-blindness. You freaks!

I kinda sorted them by using a bubble sort in my head then stepped back to view the thing as a whole.

I think that perhaps it depends on the contrast of your monitor. I think this has been posted here before, but a long time ago.

Scored 16. Since my monitor is pretty old (still 5:4, 1280x1024) and not that outstanding, I just blame it on that.

145

But then there's a fault on the GPU - and I struggle to see anything this time of night.

Interesting test. Might try again when I'm fully alert - and on a different machine.

Doubt I'll get a zero though as the colours seemed to mysteriously change when I gazed at them too long.

I think the monitor can effect this greatly. Though I feel a CRT would make it easier, but my 5 year old monitor did just fine.

got a 4, only ones I missed were in the olive green range, which isn't surprising as I'm slightly green-grey colorblind.

Only 12, but I am not sure how color correct my display is.

I'm doing it again but this time I'm doing a preliminary sort, giving my eyes a rest and coming back to make any changes I think are needed before submitting. I think fatigue plays a big part when looking at a monitor, not to mention that when looking at light you have an after-image of the opposite colour which could affect this test.

[edit] "…when looking at light…" I just realised how dumb that is.

This time I got 8, so one more than last time, but this time my errors were all in the blue/red area. I got all the green/blue ones correct this time, so that is a bit odd. I probably have some difficulty distinguishing blue, but if the parts I have trouble with are changing I don't know how conclusive that can be.

Same here. But I'm satisfied, considering 4 is as close to Pi as you can get with this test.

I have spent more time and have done it better, now it's 4!

p.s. @OBese87
Quote: "Yeah I spent a while shifting around a pinky square that didn't look like it fitted in anywhere!"

I had a square in the middle that was placed correctly, but it's color was not fitting the gradient. I think this is the moment when my monitor failed.

I'm legitimately color deficient, and on an old CRT monitor. I feel like a pro with my score as low as it is A good portion of luck was involved following my basic sorting, I was mostly working off of 'shade' rather than color, but that's one of the ways I've learned to recognize colors around my deficiency.

I was a diamond grader for 12 years, color is by far the most difficult value factor to grade accurately. a key is to compare color a against both left and right side of color b.

I'm very tired though and sitting in the dark so as I move my eyes around the screen I get the snail trail thing. Maybe not ideal...

I got a 4 like quite a few people it seems, and it was the blue-purple area I had trouble. But hey, its midnight and idk how good my monitor is. I suspect I could improve to a 2 or 3 on a better monitor and during the day, but my eyes are far from perfect as I have an odd disorder in which my left eye is higher on my face than my right eye. Not that should affect color. Anyways, a cool test.

Came across this site for monitor calibration/testing. It's pretty interesting and with the number of people unsure about the accuracy of their monitors on here might be useful:
