Anyone ever used open candy to monetize games?

I'm interested in it, but feel it may give you a bad rep amongst the gameplaying community.

i read at wiki about.

i don't like the installers with yahoo/bing toolbars but
if they are optional to install its ok.
advertising in software i hate generally because its annoyed users
and looks ugly etc.
my mind,some games/apps can really be "free"ware and without this adv.
