Great to see you back and fabulous media as always. However, cannot download: after 11.5 megs get message saying file contains invalid data and the download stops. Anybody else having this problem?

Welcome back

Thanks for your files. Definatly great work

Make this forum to something a little bit better and release more stuff. So we can push the Request/NoobHelp threads aside.

I downloaded twice and got the 'invalid data' error twice. Similar problem, any ideas on how to fix?

Strange problem that I haven't encountered before, but tried a download manager and it worked!

One question though, can the tunnels 8 pack be used in a commercial game, or is it non commercial only? The terms say "Wizardofid's media may NOT be re-textured and sold in a new pack, may NOT be redistributed or given away" which made me unsure.

Thanks

Thanks for the comments re downloading problems, gents. Actually I tried a download manager too, without success. Seems as if problem was with a certain ISP... Anyway, a friend downloaded it for me and it's great!

I played with it last night. It takes some getting used to with the positioning, but, it looks great. I will get some screen shots for you when I finish work.

It means you may not re-texture a mesh(s) to sell or to give it away,or get financial gain by selling the media separately.....

Just want to let you know that it appears that a texture is missing on the Narrow_straight_2.fps segment.

I have made a screen capture and posted it for you to see.

It also appears that if you walk into that corner where you can see the light coming thru on the right side, that you will get stuck there and will have to reset the test game.

But this is absolutely a great pack. Thank you again.

I'll retexture and mix these with my medieval architecture. The contrast looks splendid!!

Thanks a lot for these again, they come in more than handy.

I wonder how I integrade my segmentmeshes into reloaded once its out.

That is the question of the year. I so want to get started converting what has been done to the new engine. Lots of work to do.

Myke

kindly so me a ingame screenshot of the light being leaked ?

one of 3 things are possible,

using an outside light source, which isn't needed..

Too low a lightmap quality

If you build your own map from the segments, there is an alignment issue...

Problem is to be able to allow you to populate the whole level area with the segments, unneeded face like the outside ones were removed, to optimize polygons a bit, otherwise you would have been looking at double the polygon count and that would be that.

Another common problem is that some faces for objects face were not removed as it would make it difficult for me to align ans place with in the editor to complete the segment, so bliting will occur as two faces share the same space, but this would only be noticed from the outside, as a result of that light might leak into the tunnels if you use an outside light source, these are indoor segments, there is really no point adding a light source(s) outside of the meshes.

adjusting the light quality above 50 would generally fix problems like that with the very lax lightmapping at lower quality, I have run over a 100 times through the map to check for lightmap issues, and none were found.

Collision issues is unfortunately an FPSC thing and very little I can do about that, it's either straight arrow walls or sloped walls, and blocking of problem areas with static entities...I know pending the angle you walk towards some metal supports will get you stock now and then... there isn't much I can do about it, it's either with or with out them, and it would be a shame without them as they make quite the difference.

But as I suggested make sure your segments are aligned correctly to avoid problems, some segments require a straight segment to be able to connect with the next segment or else you will find gaps or leaks.

if you check the mapbank example maps have been included, to show how they should be used.

the texture issue I will have a look at might be a naming issue but I have installed the the same file uploaded here to confirm the FPS files points to the correct textures and all seems well, will investigate.

Narrow_straight_2.fps missing texture and misaligned.

This is the tunnels 8.fpm map file included with the install. Only difference is waypoint added and a ww2 character following it so I don't get lost.

I could not get stuck again. I know fpsc collision can get you stuck easy.
