Hi guys,

So in my game I use urlmon.dll to handle file downloads, but I'm having some customers who use the new Windows 8.1 version having issues with it. It crashes out for people with the error:

"The ordinal 297 could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\Visual Outbreak\Malevolence Game\urlmon.dll"

Anyone had this happen? Anyone have ideas for solving it?

Try not including it with your game and instead loading the one present on the target computer; it may be that they have added functions to it that is expected by other processes in Win 8 and including your own (presumably included with an earlier version of Windows) breaks this.

This is just a guess based on this topic describing a similar problem.

you can download up to 10 files in same time..

Oh that looks cool, hadn't seen that before...

And it doesn't make use of calls to urlmon.dll?

well in some way it does use urlmon, but it draws it from the machine system files.. wich means will run on any windows..

didnt tryed the win8.1

you can try and tell me if it works..
