So what I am trying to do is load a simple gunshot sound I found off the internet. It is in the .wav format and is set to mono.. every time I try and run the program I get the runtime error 3002 could not load sound at line 2.. So to run some tests I took a gunshot sound from the FPS creator library and it loaded up just fine. I have no idea what is going wrong. I have tried converting the file to .mp3 in mono etc. Still nothing. I have also tried other sounds from my computer converted to mono. Nothing seems to work. what is really strange is if I take the FPS sound and convert it to .Mp3 it will not load. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Can you upload the sound file so we can test it?

Just a thought - have you tried looping the sound? I have a vague feeling there used to be a bug where the first few milliseconds of a sound couldn't be heard.

Could be as GG mentioned, could also be at an incorrect bitrate.

Apologies for the self-promotion here, and this might not help at all, but this question inspired me to try putting my own 3d sound system together, which I've been meaning to do for a while. If DBPro's still playing up over loading it as a 3d sound, this might help

'Mono' could be the problem. You can try to cheat (sacrificing file size): merge two channels, replace both channels with the merged result and leave file as stereo.

I could be wrong, but I think DBPro needs 3D sounds to be mono, or else it won't load them...

Turns out it must have been what Wattywatts said - incorrect bitrate... Never had that problem myself :s
I tried loaded it into Audacity and exporting it again, and that seemed to fix it. I attached the fixed file - hope this works!

Glad it worked
I just opened it in Audacity, then went to File > Export, and exported as the standard .wav option (Audacity calls it 'WAV (Microsoft) signed 16bit PCM' in the file type drop-down menu... Means nothing to me )
