After I exported an object from Wings3d in .x format and use the LOAD OBJECT statement to read it in, the object appears deformed.

I tried:
load object "test.x", 1
load object "test.x", 1,1

If somebody has a suggestion ..

Can you export to 3ds? If yes, you can try to use this command 3DS2X "yourfile.3ds", "yourfile.x", people claim it works. There is also 3ds to x file converter somewhere in the forums i can't find it right now, but there is.

upload your object so we can look at it.

I've attached the 3DS to .X converter that I've been using.

(It probably doesn't work for animations.)
