I have published my first app on google play store. A classic memory game for one or two players and has been developed in tier 2.

I made a game called "Memory War" but I had to remove it from the stores because of the word "Memory". It was a German boardgame company who complained about it.

I just wanted to tell in case the they contact you also.

Check my games for iPad, Android Tablet and PlayBook.

I have seen your game in gallery

I suppose the problem has been with the phrase "memory war". The word "memory" is too generic to ban it.

Actually, Ravensburger will likely issue a takedown notice to all games of this nature that include the word "memory" or "memories" in them at all and are being distributed internationally outside of the US/UK. Many devs got hit by this and had to change their app names. Annoying, isn't it?

I didn't know. There are many memory games with the word "memory" in Google play.

I suppose that I'll have to change the game name when necessary.

I hope the verb "match" be unregistered...

I know it's an old debate but I personally think it is disgusting that anyone can trademark a single commonly used word such as "Memory". It is a descriptive verb used to describe what the game is about NOT trying to use someone else's brand to gain publicity. I've never even heard of this German company...
