Taking a bit of a punt using the V2 alpha for this, but couldn't resist the extra features!

This is starting from scratch, so I've got a bit of a hill to climb!

How are you going to implement the endless levels?

Spawning orbs to collect on an open field while you blast a bunch of enemys?

Looks nice by the way

Iam waiting for a more stable agk 2 beta because when I tested the first so did I notice to much errors in eat drink slay?

But there is a lot more 3d commands in it?

I was thinking about having some walls etc. a bit like a maze, but not too complex.

On the screenshots, you can see another rendering from a second camera - although there is no more cameras, you can simulate another camera using the rendertoImage function.

I also extended the model and applied bloom to only some parts - see screenshot below.

I think I'll spend a week on the visuals and then put a level together. I think I got inspired from 29games little car game

I think It would be good for AppGameKit version 2, to showcase many new features available?

Much better texturing now and the bloom elements modified to look a bit better.

That's enough messing with the model for a while, there's still a bit of tidying up on it to do. Now it's time to get some game-play implemented!

Where did you get that bloom shader
Would be nice to have a look at it
Looks very nice so far.

The bloom shader (or series of shaders) comes with AGK2 examples.
It's great that you can apply the shader only to certain objects if you break down the render cycle.

I'm going to have to eliminate the bloom with distance as it only really works well close up.

Oh, and you can only really use it with v2 as you need to make several render passes.

Cliff, not sure the endless level means that it has to have infinite size, just infinite duration.

As time goes on, more and harder enemies will be teleported into the arena.

Some other ideas I have are:

The need to refuel / reenergise / reload / repair (from pickups)
A drone which works similar to the scanning probes from the film "Prometheus"

Iam not sure my self? but iam currently whipping mine together to release it so I can focus on eat drink slay again

You could have the map rearrange the walls after a specific time ?

They vanish in thin air.(fade out)

Then do the new locations on the map get marked where they will re appear in on there new positions.

And fade in to a solid state.

Any enemys or player that are in a such spot will get destroyed when they then are solid.

You could throw in some nice voice fx.

ARENA WARP! PLAYER GET READY!

The original tron movie also had changing arenas I belive ?

Some nice ideas Cliff (like the idea of moving the walls, as yes, this was something I remember from the original Tron movie).

New video with some questionable AI for the enemy tanks. Guess they need to know what reverse is!

Maybe after the compo, you could expand on this... just thinking it would make a great multiplayer shooter.

Love the visuals, especially love those sound effects.

Heh Cliff - thanks for the comments.
However, I doubt I will be able to submit a full game in time for the deadline.

Have managed to add enemy firing and hits, also charge pads and a HUD. Far too much to do in time I think, but I will continue to try!
