So, i had made a model in highpoly, then retopoed using.. projection I think? Bascily, I draw polygons on top of the model on a seperate sub object.
Thing is - that means I end up with 2 models, and thus, two different UVmaps.
So, using this technique, is it possible to make it work with polypainting?

As I understand it, not having used zbrush, but this is how it works in blender and I think it's the same, high poly doesn't need a UV map, polypaint doesn't paint/project to an image it colors the actual polygons and is why you need many very small poly to get detail. This then gets baked down to the low poly UV the same way you bake the normals or AO or anything else. There should be options in the bake settings to do just the polypaint/vertex colors.
