From one of the code snippets, I copied and pasted into DBPro (Synergy Windows 8.1 compatible, even though I'm using it on Windows 7) and it says I am missing a certain DLL file. Could you please help me?

It's not Synergy Editor. You need to install DirectX 9.

Synergy Editor. DBPro v1.0761 print,print preview does not work from file menu. Error message"encountered an improper argument". Anyone got any idea. Thanks in advance
