I haven't used them in a while, but I believe the Main-Weapon.fpi goes to the Main script area and the Appear-ally-team.fpi goes to the Appear area. You must leave the Shoot script area blank.

I believe waypoints should work automatically, but I've never tested that.

Hope I've explained it well, I'm never good at using the right words.

If I remember, there should be a Darkai example level somewhere in the software.

They are not bugged- Dark AI works just as it is intended, or should I say they work as well as the documentation and the script commands provide to the developer. The issue is how they are applied and what is also running where/when in the background of the development. The other problem is there seems to be odd issues that occur between the different FPSC versions. A lot has to do with trial and error and how well you know and understand the engine and content.

Perhaps this thread can be of help. You may find some info that will help.

There's no problem that can't be solved without applying a little scripting.

Hi

Yes, they are right. Its all about try and error to use dark ai commands. But the stock DAI scripts work quite well. You want to use them like this:

AI Scripts
Start Dark AI\appear-enemy-team2.fpi
Main Dark AI\main-weapon.fpi
Destroy destroy\leavecorpse.fpi

Physics
Always Active? Yes

Here is a thread about my own stealth scripts based on Dark AI:

I hope it gives you additional help

Greetings, Snake675

THAaks to both for your answers but I cannot manage to make charatcers follow waypoints.
I tried with TF341 charatcers with their standard DARK AI scripts and with New Dark AI scripts and they dont move on waypoints , the same with BSP WW2 characters and theirs darkai( and new dark ai) scripts..

I tried with other standard characters (casuals) and no one move on waypoints..

maybe I'm doing sommething wrong..

I simply place the character on map and after create a waypoint near to him but nothing happens..

Because there is a simple problem! Dark AI didnĀ“t work with waypoints. I wrote a script some months ago so they follow waypoints, but after a fight they stand there and do nothing! So I ask s4real and he said this is not how dark AI work. So forget about the waypoints and dark ai, they never come together!

ah ok Corno..I understand.. an how can I do if I want a character follow a waypoint and after react to player ...which behaviour script I must use?

In the past I seen some video from hakuta94 which characters follow waypoint and afer had realistic behaviour as go to health station to refill health , the same with ammo etc.. an I think there were Dark ai scripts..

am I right??

@JC LEON

Probably you wont find scripts that do exactly what you want. Think about coding them yourself. I wanted my enemies to attack after they are spawned by a trigger zone. I coded an appear scrpit wich has no dark ai but waypoint following. The main script switches into dark ai mode at the beginning and works very similar to "main-weapon.fpi".
This way you can throw enmies at the player attacking him.

I can put together a small example level for you if you want...

There you are...

Success, Snake67

PS: If you want aour enmies to patrol along waypoints until player is in sight, take a look at the other link further above...
