Hey guys,

So for years now my brother has had a good avatar that he uses in every profile on every game and every website, but I haven't. This is the avatar he uses:

It's obviously the Master Chief, but it's got his face in it. This is a perfect combination: Games, Halo, the colour blue AND it has his face in it.

I didn't had such luck finding an avatar. As I'm sure you're all aware, since I joined this forum I've been using this avatar:

It was just something I whipped up when I realised I wanted a unique avatar. Unfortunately, it doesn't really mean anything. I've used this avatar all over the web, but it's not the only one I've used. I also used this one of Henderson (Nick Frost) from Hyperdrive in various other places (most notably, Steam and Twitter):

Recently while playing Insurgency I achieved MVP a few times. Some servers display your Steam profile picture along with your name, and when I got MVP it displayed Henderson. I realised I wanted my own unique avatar that encompassed the same cool things as my brother's.

I spent ages and ages searching the web, trying to come up with a good idea for an avatar. I needed something which had red or orange tones and was a character from a cool game or movie. My first thought was Iron Man, but I immediately dismissed that as too clichéd and... well, kinda dumb.

Eventually I realised I should look at my large collection of games and as soon as I did I saw the Orange Box. Lightbulb!

Some searching, a morning's photoshopping (Gimping actually ) and this is the result:

It's perfect! It represents my favourite game of all time, it has orangy-yellow colours and it has my face in it!

I will now go around the web and find all places where I've used my previous avatars and change them to this one. So happy that I finally have a unique avatar as good as my brother's!

That is pretty awesome, I take it that it looks like you

I would love to do my kids something like this for a poster for their room or something. I'll probably spend all day on this now when I should be working, thanks Clonkex ha

Cool, I like it.

It amazes me, still, that people think my avatar is a picture of me, when it's clearly a cartoon picture.

In some ways, your avatar is a picture of you. That's the image that pops into my head when I think of you and we'll probably never meet so as far as I'm concerned, that's what you look like

Thanks! I genuinely didn't expect anyone to say it was cool; I was expecting jokes about having my face in my avatar. This is much better

I sincerely hope Valve just one day dumps HL3 on Steam. No warning, no press, no nothing. Not even a homepage promotion. That. Would. Be. AWESOME.

Indeed, I replaced Gordon's face with mine.

Indeed! To me, Thraxas is a comic-book-shop-geek because he looks like that in his avatar.

Well, until all this ISIS crap started, I was going to make me an ISIS ID badge, you know from the show Archer. Had my friend draw my picture in a similar style.

Umm... I really have no idea what this ISIS thing is. Of course, I don't watch the news at all, so it's probably no surprise I haven't heard of it. I WAS going to ignore it entirely, but I guess since you've all heard of it I should perhaps google it a bit...

Admittedly I've never actually watched Archer, but the ads turned me off completely and utterly

The previews I had seen turned me away as well, I thought it looked stupid. But so many people were always talking about it, I made myself sit down and watch an episode... then another.... and another... it's awesome! But I suppose it depends on your sense of humor.

Australia just launched an anti-ISIS airstrike in Iraq.
Australian couterterrorism forces prevented public beheadings in two australian cities

Not trying to pull this off topic or start any politics, just pointing Clonkex to some recent world news.

Indeed it would, and it's entirely possible it fits my sense of humour, but I'm still unlikely to watch it. Just doesn't appeal at all
