It may not be cubes, but you get tessellated versions of the following primitives: a plane, a pyramid, a number of cylinders and a sphere here

Sorry, couldn't resist

Oh, it's a mistake. There are boxes, not cubes. I'll fix it. But tessellated flat plane is the ultimate effect ever! Ha ha.

I write big walls of text? I feel that this warrants a rebuttal.

Whilst, yes, I do understand that there are many people who post on these forums and large walls of text are time consuming to and takes an effort to read and at times may seem to carry more information than is necessary to make a point. On the other hand, sometimes it is necessary to look at things from different angles and sometimes an argument or a process of thought needs to be given the text it deserves in order to justify that point. Though long, it can offer a certain amount of detail that allows the person reading it to better under the logic and thought processes behind the point made.

Though some may argue that for an internet forum, what is the point of putting that much detail into a post, I mean, who reads these things anyway? Furthermore, it's not as if you're changing the world and the paragraphs may be redundant and not even rub off on the person its addressing. For instance, many folk are not prepared to reason and sometimes the more effective method is something short and to the point that makes them think. A witty remark, a punchline, a sarcastic comment. Sometimes a single sentence can do more than a 12 paragraph essay.

Yet, I feel the biggest flaw is that short answers and short responses leave too much to the imagination and is open to misinterpretation and whilst a person may respond with an audible "ahh", but you don't know how they've interpreted it - they could construe your whole argument to mean something completely different, could mean the difference between being seen as a Nazi and Humanitarian.

Though of course, I understand that the comic was intended to mock my posting style and to that, I say 'bravo', this gentleman did chuckle a little.

tl;dr? I did it again. >.>

[edit]

That image of me is slightly accurate, my lightbulb has gone and well as it's winter, I suppose I should wear a hoodie.

b) for some reason I can't see images attached with "view" link on BETA forum, only with those with "download".

mr Handy: much lols at the vodka comic I love the way I swoop across the floor Your Paint drawing skills are really, really good!

Also, someone should post a comic where I become a mod or perhaps come across a large sum of money. I give you the freedom to take artistic liberty there

Oh? Here you go:

*not aliased = not anti-aliased

Overall: original is vivid, crisp and shiny metallic, new is dull, flat and with unwanted blurry shadows.

You did it with carelessness to details. I'd recommend you to redraw the badges, I know you can do it well.

Yeah, what is this competition?

I personally support a program to create many more badges; specifically, badges that would be much easier to obtain. As of the current, most do not have badges. Frankly, I am lucky to have mine.

So inconvenience everyone instead? Perhaps I've misunderstood what's being suggested?

Edit: Actually I've just logged in again as a guest and can now see what you mean (I hadn't noticed that your images were still visible when I tried that yesterday ). But I'm still confused - why are your images visible whereas others aren't. What did you do that was different?

I guess you can always pay up and get a backer badge

Anyway, got some good laughs out of a lot of those strips, although I've got to admit I haven't been spending enough time in the posting competition to get them all.

Edit: @GG: apparently the "download" link for an uploaded image doesn't do any logged-in validation (which is weird, wouldn't it make better sense the other way around; block guests from downloading archives and such but still allow them to view images?) so if you use that instead of the "view" link it should work as he is suggesting.

Personally I hate when I go to any forum for information and the solution is on the screenshot which is attached and I must create an account to see it. So in the such forums owners' point of view, I must have a hundred accounts just in case I want to see a picture anywhere. That drives me crazy. That is why bugmenot exists. The last one drop of hate is Kaspersky forum's ABBL (community banner blacklist) that is attached only for members. So I disabled Kaspersky antibanner at all and using AdBlock. Arghhh. At least TGC still knows what justice and freedom is.

No idea. BatVink just posted in the mod-lounge and said "arty mods MAKE ME SOME BADGAAAAAS!!" (paraphrasing there) so I did

Quote: "Overall: original is vivid, crisp and shiny metallic, new is dull, flat and with unwanted blurry shadows."

Quote: "You did it with carelessness to details."

Nope, not careless at all. It took me 3 hours to make those tiny images. They're almost exactly how I intended them to be, except that the trophy images are still slightly blurry (not counting the shadows, which are meant to be there). I will attempt to fix that, if BatVink can update the images for me. So:

"missed reflection" - Intentional. I wanted a flatter overall image to fit with current trends.
"cutted pixels" - Yes, I'm aware of this, but it was proving surprisingly difficult to match the original shape with the correct level of blurring into the background, and it was completely unnoticeable unless you compared it directly with one of the other badges, so I left it.
"wrong shadow" - That was intentional because I didn't really like the reverse-shadow on the original badges, and you won't notice the difference between them normally anyway.
"not [anti-]aliased torn edges" - Intentional. Designed to maintain a level of sharpness.
"weaker contrast" - Entirely intentional to give it a flatter look, and besides that, that level of contrast is only visible in some of the badges.

Quote: "I'd recommend you to redraw the badges, I know you can do it well."

The simple fact is, I volunteered to draw those, and I did it in my free time, so by the time I was finished I wasn't in the mood to fix the more obvious problems (such as the slight overall blurriness). I didn't go with the heavier metallic look of the previous badges to make them slightly more modern, as well as to make them somewhat less prestigious than the other badges that are more difficult to obtain.

Quote: "Thought May as well contribute something..."

lol. <- that's me laughing because I have NO CLUE what's going on in that gif

Quote: "number 8"

lol I like that one

Quote: "I've learnt something useful again."

Yeah me too. I never thought of linking images to the Download link.

Ah, you wanted an updated version, that's why they're different. So the flaws are cutted pixels and blurriness. I suggest that blurred shadows increase overall blurred look.

If you want, I can help with participants badges, just send me a PM.
