Retail businesses wanting ways to drive traffic and make money didn't originate here and will never be confined to one nation

I mostly just ignore the whole thing, no one has deals so great that I'm willing to put so much time and effort into fighting the crowd to get.

Ah, welcome to Currys. I have deal with them on a regular basis at work, I can say positive and negative things about their service. It's like playing a game of roulette. But when you know their actual policies and procedures, they're a lot easier to deal with. Some staff don't get trained properly. But then this is normal for retail, just er, I have to deal with them a lot more, probably because they are a mahussive retailer.

I did this at work and it kept my place in the queue. Annoyingly, a customer asked "how much are retailers selling this item for?" with Currys listed as the only retailer and I had to be like, "I only have 20 minutes left in the queue on their website, sorry."

They're a huge electronics retailer in the UK

http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/index.html

I work for an electronics manufacturer, so I deal with them on a daily basis.

I could have Googled that... I'm way too lazy for my own good Looks like a UK equivalent of our Harvey Norman (which is frequently called Hardly Normal - so much so that if you Google "hardly normal" it brings up Harvey Norman first in the list).

What is the United State's equivalent of these stores? Radio Shack perhaps?

Radio Shack is hardly a large electronic store. It's more like BestBuy, MicroCenter, or if you're on the west coast, Frys.

We have to deal with them at work as well, well, for customers in the Republic of Ireland. Not heard of it being in the UK though.

Ah BestBuy, tried to hit the UK market, didn't last that long and went out of business here. lol Though I sometimes get calls from Costco's customer support, so I guess they've managed to hit the UK market (well, their call centre is based in the US, so it amuses me listening to them try to pronounce place names here), but my guess is they've got an online presence, because I've never, ever seen a Costco store here.

I just looked it up online, apparently they have stores, just not many and none near where I live.
