Some very sad news, Leonard Nimoy passed away.

I loved all of his work, especially in Fringe where he played William Bell, who you could never be sure if you trusted or not. Very very good work. He will be missed!

An actor and artist with a lot of integrity.
He leaves us with his legacy...and some very quotable lines

Sad, real sad. As well as an iconic actor, his technological advancement narration in Civilization 3 was simply the best.

He had a good innings. (Up goes my vulcan sign) \\//

Shucks. Not much anyone can do about it though, right? How sad.

They managed to keep the location secret from the AFAIK. His funeral was yesterday (Sunday). R.I.P.

His funeral was held privately in an undisclosed location, Westboro Church had no idea where to look for it.

There have actually been groups of volunteers that will show up at funerals the WBC has threatened to protest, to keep them as far away from the funeral as possible. There would have been a similar group around Leonard Nimoy's as well, I'm certain of that. Of course there didn't need to be since the location was kept secret.

How do the volunteers go about doing that? Seems illegal to me.

I'm not sure how they do it, I just know many groups have done it successfully. Some groups even have a number to call if someone is afraid their loved one's funeral will be picketed - so they know to be there and shoo the WBC jack@$$es away.

Never even heard of WBC before, but going by the Wikipedia article they're insane extremists. I mean, I agree with some of their principles, but their way of acting is just... insane. And pointless. Do they really think anyone is going to change how they act just because they carry around signs telling them they should?

Meh, the world is full of crazy people...

RIP In Peace Leonard Nemoy \\//
