Don't you think that a post like this would have gone better in the Posting Competition? This post doesn't deserve a place on the main board, no offense. If you, maybe, gave us a little more detail, perhaps even a link, and typed in a more mature manner, this post might be a bit more constructive. But right now it's not.

I agree with what DJD said, this post is pretty useless, especially since you didn't even post a link to what actually happned

And this is why the Geek Culture board is dying. Nobody's allowed to post anything

If he hadn't used a photo of Brad Pitt as his profile picture on the dating site, it may never have come to this.

At least he didn't walk 7000 miles. That would be 500 miles plus 500 more 13 times. It would be like a stupid infinite scrolling web page but for walking. Just stick with page numbers!

So hold on
"a man flies 7000 miles to china ot meet his dream girl and gets REJECTED!"
Is she obligated to accept him just because he traveled so far?
Are we supposed to blame the girl for what he actually did? (getting drunk almost drowning)?
Because if that's what you're hinting at then I REALLY don't like your way of thinking here... Might be reading too much into the main post; It might not even be serious (newest post..) But still..

Can't find any humor in it either so..

No problem. If you thought it was thread worthy, then all is good. We all have different ways of judging what goes on the forum or not! The post just came across as a bit immature, that is all.

The people who end up like that are typically not the people who deserve to be treated like that.

My cousin was daft enough to do the same exact thing - ended up in New York, stood up, back home to the shame... it's not a funny thing, imagine how these people must feel - totally rejected and worthless. The girl should have to pay for his flights home - she obviously told him to come.

On the man's side; It is quite a sad, I am sure the girl convinced him to make the journey. Time for him to move on, grab a beer and enjoy China; remember his mistake and be more wise next time.

On the girl's side; If he bankrupted himself over the flight he was probably too infatuated to think properly about what he is actually doing. A 7000 mile trip is not much of a big deal if he is rich with the convience of modern aircraft... And what was he planning on doing next, in China; learn the language? settle down? move in?

I tried long distance relationships before; never again... Luckily it was the girl who took the flight to be with me. If I flew over I would only have myself to blame.
