Alien Nostromo Pack is on the way!!

First off, I want to say a thank you to Cosmic Prophet, without him alot of this pack would not have been done. When I began work on a game idea that involved alot of custom models, CP chipped right in with models he had already made for such a game. I started with models of the Nostromo medbay and from there CP and I made alot of models which eventually brought on another follow cake eater. So between the three of us, we made this pack.

Right now, I am in the Derelict hive. There are still a few more things I want to add to it, but I wanted to show some of it. I have seperated the models per their creators. The first bit here is from both CP and I.

I will keep this post open as I go through the old files and update them and even add to it.

Enjoy!

You bet! I made the models and CP textured them. With the exception of the alien warrior, I have remade the face hugger and chest burster.

Thanks! Amazing how one little effect can change a scene.

After I had some time last night, I remodeled the facehugger. The one that we had before was made using Rolfy's spiders as a base. It was ok as was the animations, but just didn't feel like a facehugger to me. The animations made it still feel like a jumping spider and to me it had more potential.

Since Cp had given me some great textures to work with, I kept those and just remade the mesh. It is a lower poly model than the original, so gameplay should improve. For fpsc vanilla that's a good thing, but for reloaded it shouldn't matter.

This will be the first pack that I will update and convert to reloaded. After that I will continue with the rest of my packs as well as converting them to be used with unity. So stay tuned for that.

Here is the facehugger low poly with subsurf modifier comes to about 1900 verts - 530 faces shown in the video below. Actual game model 430 verts - 530 faces.

Enjoy!

After many tries, I am only able to put my new version of the facehugger in fpsc. The one that Cp and I had before keeps running a runtime error 105. I know what that means, I just don't have the patience for that today. Meaning I want to get more of the pack done today. I will go back to it later don't worry.

Here is a preview of the new facehugger in fpsc. Dead of course. Don't want it anywhere near my face!

Quote: "Any estimated time or is it still too early? "

I do not have a real good answer for you on this. Pretty much when it is done, I will make a post and call it complete. There are alot of files I am going through. Separating my files from Cp's files is a job in themselves. Also for those of you that have used Cp's packs, know that sometimes there are missing files. I have to go through emails between Cp and I and find those files.

I do have a question for three of the creators.

First question: Jake aka EAI, would you be willing to donate your pulse rifle? Dale said that you made a one of a kind.

Second question: Henry Ham, Dale said you were remaking your pulse rifle, would you be willing to donate that or may I include your old one?

Third question: Dale aka Cosmic Prophet, I have sent you many emails about this pack and some missing files, but I have yet to get a response. Would you give me a shout back?

Thanks!

I think CP already had permission to give away the pulse rifle with this pack, because I saw it uploaded in one of his recent threads. Also, I get a similar error on the robot characters from your Pom model pack.

After taking a break to do some honey do's, I was actually able to get Cp's facehugger in fpsc. Cp's facehugger uses Rolfy's spider animations. It works!

Enjoy!

Just received and email from Cp today:

Quote: "Hi Brian. At this time, I give you permission to do anything you like with anything I've done in the past. No matter what it is. "

So, I will make sure this pack is well worth the wait for your guys.

Sorry guys for not updating this. I have more to show, but my wife and I just moved to a new place and it has been hard to really settle down. My office is a complete mess right now.

Now I am working on somethings that need some scripting done for it, would anyone be willing to script for me. For example, my facehugger needs a script where it actually hugs the player per the animation I made for it.

Anyone wants to do this let me know here and I will check back this weekend.

Thanks

Hi Starmind, I'll help out if needed. I'm not the best at scripting
though.
Quote: "actually hugs the player"

Do you want it like where it covers the whole screen? I'm trying
to picture this. Would be scary.
Like I said I'm not the best, so I hope someone better comes
along. But I'll help out

in action. Just need to cleanup the script a little more.

The pack is going slow. I have been so busy with work that I haven't had any real time to put more effort into the pack. Right now I am converting the models for use in two game engines. Unity and Fpsc. I also would like to get these into reloaded before I say it's done. So if anyone wants to help get these into reloaded with working scripts and animations, I will be needing that. I don't have reloaded at this time.

My plan is to release this pack no later than January 2016 for Fpsc.

Off subject here, I have updated most of Cosmic's and my packs on my website. I added an alternate link to those few that were mediafire links. I really don't like all those ads. I went through parts of the packs and cleaned them up a bit. Should make it easier to install now for the newer user of FPSC. Eventually, I will start to update all the packs for Reloaded. Anyone wants to do that now, feel free to do so. Just send me those files when they are done and I will add them to the site.
Thanks and enjoy!!

@ Starmind 001
Happy to see you and that all is well I thought maybe something had happened.
Of course I'll help out with the model conversion. Static is no problem, it's just those
with scripts & animations. I couldn't get past understanding Lua so I stopped trying.
If they're just simple single looping animations, then yes.

YES! CP has given me permission to do what I want with his packs, which include adding them to other game engines. As long as they remain free. My packs are also free to use in other engines. Credit must be given per the readme.txt.

Nope not yet

Whatever help you can give, I will take. Most of CP's and my packs are static. I will look into the Lua scripting for the animations.

I forgot to mention this before, this pack is massive!! That is why it is taking so long. That and my modeling, texturing and animating skills have improved, so been improving models takes some time. I do hope you all will enjoy.

Wow starmind, nice work.

On another note, I know you asked for some help converting the older CP models to GG.
Been running into A LOT of problems getting them to work (mainly animated ones) correctly
in GG. I gave up for now to see if things improve?

Here is the sleep chamber with some of the shaders in place. The door needs some work, meaning it worked great with vanilla 1.09 but with v1.20 it doesn't work the same anymore. Alot of the models are having the same problem. That's why it is wip, right?
