Hello,

DarkBASIC Classic contained an example called "room" where you are a scorpion and walk through a room.

I wanted to use this scorpion model. ScorpIdle.x works, but when I try to load ScorpWalk.x , DarkBASIC Professional crashes (Windows error "This program stopped working"). I have the newest version of DarkBASIC Professional installed.

Here are the demo, and the scorpion model files:
http://www.dracenmarx.com/temp/scorpion

The following code is used in the game:

I also tried this:

Please fix this bug, or tell me what I can do to make it working. I tried a douzend tools to try to "repair" scorpwalk.x - but none of these tools could work with the animations included in the .x file (for both files).

Thank you

I think the format of DB Classic 'X' models is quite different than that of DB Pro with regard to the animation data. Not sure if it will work, but maybe you could try converting it with FragMotion:
http://www.fragmosoft.com/fragMOTION/index.php

The only other thing I could suggest would be to load the idle file into a 3D modeling program, rig and animate it yourself.

So many games to code.....so little time.

I love this super uninformative quote from people on here...

State your Version...

Didn't DBC use DX6/7/8?

I agree with loading the model in an editor and exporting it again...

So do I - except export it in text not binary format if possible. Then we might be able to see for ourselves what goes wrong.

I confirmed the problem using U77RC7. Hope that helps.

No idea.

Edit Just tested U7.62. Same problem.

Cool, I cannot use 7.7 due to non-activation of one of the recent plugins... otherwise I would be using it even if it is considered an unstable release...

Interestingly, DBPro allows you to load the mesh using the load mesh command - but then you lose the animation data .

Certainly a text format version of the file in question would help us diagnose the problem.
