a free built in camcorder with almost no slowdowns and save in mp4 and high quality
Looks nice but the choppy video don't do your game justice ....
I used to use fraps but never again after tested the built n in windows 10.

Yes, for the smoke I use the internal Particles.
I use the internal particles for most of my FX :
- weather (rain, snow)
- game fx : smoke, fire, spell, magic explosion, teleportation, levelUP, open a chest...
- UI fx

I have made my own particle system for some FX, when the particule doesn't work as I want. But I dont' use it a lot.

It's the version Alpha, so a lot of improvements and contents to add (and some bugs to fixe maybe), but it's great :

Keys

For the moment, we can play the game freely until the region 10 (player level 60 to 80 ?), and the others regions are only available in the fullgame.
But it could be great to have a system to get the full version with some keys for example.

Hi

Since july 2018, I work again on arkeos chronicle.


I have added lots of features :

New :
- we can choose between 4 characters now (all are animated (walk, fight)), we have differents parameters with all characters (dexterity, damage...).
- craft : we can craft a lot of objects (42 for the moment), we win xp in craft.
- forge (backsmith) : we can improve our equipments with the backsmith
- I have added a lot of objects, and differents kind of objects (metals, woods, parchments, potions, equipments, magic stone, runes, boosters,...)
- we have now 22 skills, we can improve it with parchments
- we can improve our spells with magic stones
- we can use booster to get more power (for 1 hour).
- new : we have a free chest, with money and objects all the 2hours
- mine : we can collect some metals with our mine.
- wood : we can collect woods with our wood factory.
- merchand : in our village, the merchand sale now equipments differents each new day.
- succes : we have now some succes and rewards when we finish a succes.
- maps : I have added 3 maps by regions. 10 regions x 3 maps = 30 maps for the moment. I have 20 regions to finish ^^
- i have added admobs (video rewards) and iap, to get more kories (money of the games) or crystals, in the game. The game could be played only in watching ads (until the region 10).

Changes :
- the first levels and maps are easier
- lots of bugfixes and improvments

I have started the first version of this game in 2009, and I have made the first artworks in 2008 !
So, this game has 10 years in fact .
- 2008 : first artworks
- 2009 : first test in gme (made in game maker)
- 2010 to 2011 : game and editor made in game maker, tests with co struct, game developp, c++/sdl
- 2011 - 2012 : gme and editor recoded with purebasic
- 2014 : i completely recode the game with agk v1
- 2015 to today (2018) : the game is improved and made with agk2.

For the moment, there are english version and a french version.
I would like to add more langage.

For english, I need help too, because, for the moment, its a google traduction, I have tried to improve.


I have not finished the official release, I have fixed 25 bugs yesterday (omg ^^). And I have to try this new versionto see if its ok ^^.

Proof of the pudding will be in gameplay, but what AppGameKit needs is an actual, bona fide good game made with it, and this is surely it. It looks amazing and well polished, and your clearly a very talented modeller as well.

Rik should be all over this and looking to use it as promotional advertising.

Now arkeos can be donwloaded from googleplay , so.

I would to know if the ads from arkeos works on your tablet or phone ?
I use admob test for my version, so I cant test if the ads works correctly.

Because in my admobs profil, I have 50 request and only 1 impression. So I m surprised.

Does it work for you ?

Remove test mode so will it show properly….
Also so coould you have 50 registrations but only 1 showed..
Its up to ad Companys if they can show the add or not etc...
Some users use add blockers
Also admob is extremely delayed …

I just tried it out. Very impressive. Seems extremely well done. I enabled all of the options under graphics and everything ran super smooth and responsive with no issues.
I did wish there were sound FX. There was no music either but if had to be one or the other I'd take sound fx. My phone didn't even seem to consider the app as Media meaning I thought maybe I needed to increase the volume and when I pressed the volume increase button on my phone it increased the volume of the ring tone. Normally in a game it shows the Media Volume bar and that is increased.

I learned several skills and did some fighting but the lack of sounds made it so it just didn't pull me into it.

Anyway, great work! Oh I never saw an ad the entire time I was at the title, the options or while in gameplay.

For the ads, tht rewards videos only.
To see an ads, you shouldclic on the "+" button for example, or ingame on the " hearth" button.
Please, could you tellmeifyou can have a rewarded video ?

For the moment, there is a music in the game.
Have you tried to change the option : ingame / music buton ?
The music should play.

In fact, for music and sounds, i have a big problem :
I am severely handicapped/disabled (I have severe hyperacusis and tinnitus), all the noises, even very weak (<30db), make me suffer

if you know some sites where they give free sounds that I could use, tell me.

could you help me for the sounds, please ?

Yeah I saw the music button in options and seemed to already be enabled but I tried it again after clicking it and made no difference.

I will give it another test when I can and check for the video ads too. Like I said though something is different because in every (granted not many but still all that I have tried) mobile game I can press the volume up and down buttons on my phone (not controls in the games but I mean the actual physical buttons on the side of my cell phone) and the Media Volume bar pops up. For this game the Ringtone Volume bar popped up instead which is the normal default behavior when not on YouTube, testing a game, etc.

I don't know. I never got into mobile game development. I tested a mobile export of my Ultra Low Rez Platformer project as a test to see how it looked but it had no sounds fx in it yet.

I can test that real quick I guess. Change the sounds in my Real-time Tower Defense game to ogg and broadcast it to to my cell phone to test and see what happens. Give me a bit and I will do that.

EDIT: okay I just used Audacity to convert all wave files to ogg. Then I tested on my cell phone with the original .wav files first and the siren & speech worked as expected and the volume buttons on my cell brought up the Media Volume bar.
I then updated the code to load all of the ogg versions of the sounds instead of the .wav files and first tested on desktop where it failed on loading the first .ogg file.
I went ahead and broadcast to my cell phone anyway but got the same error message there failure to load the ogg file.
I then tested the ogg file in Firefox web browser and it played fine.

So it seems like there might be some issue with AppGameKit loading ogg files at least on some computers and cell phones.

It could be you are not using SetErrorMode(2) which means your program is ignoring all errors (or maybe you are developing in C and that doesn't work there... not sure). I put SetErrorMode(2) at the top of my programs and on both desktop and when I tested on my cell phone received a pop up message about failure to load the first ogg file.

If you can use SetErrorMode(2) and make an update of the app then people should be able to give you more details because it should tell us if failure to load them is the problem.

The very strange thing is I did more testing and discovered without using SetErrorMode() if it loads a sound fine (tested with .wav version) a sound ID is returned (in my test it was 1) however if the sound fails to load (tested with the .ogg version) the LoadSound function still returns a sound ID instead of 0 or -1 as one would expect (again in my test it returned 1). So it might also be you are checking for the function returning 0 or -1 and that won't work to tell you there is a problem either.

EDIT 2: I did the above tests on my lunch break and was pressed for time. I also used my existing game project. I will make a new project specifically to test ogg files and see if that has the same behavior. That will have to wait several hours from now when I am off work and have a chance to do it.

You can test with the attached project and see what result you get.

This is a test I threw together that loads 2 versions of a sound. One is in .ogg format and the other is in .wav format.
Both sounds seem to load in fine as far as they have IDs assigned to them.

I disabled the SetError as well for this experiment.

When I run this program pressing 1 to play the ogg sound I can hear nothing and the instances playing counter stays at 0 despite SoundID 1 being assigned to this sound.
When I press 2 to play the wav version it plays fine and in that case I can press it a few times quickly and not only hear the multiple instances of the sound playing but also see the instances playing counter increase and then decrease as each sound finishes.
When I open the ogg sound in the Firefox web browser it also plays with no issues.

So there seems to be something weird going on with ogg sounds and perhaps sound in general (it seems odd the first sound ID assigned is 1 and the second is 2 where for all other function calls that automatically assign the IDs I believe their IDs start at 10000 or something like that).

ok, so I think, we should post this as a bug .
it seems the Ogg feature doesn't work properly.


I have another bug with the font if we switch between fullscreen and windowed screen, some letters disappear (I have this bug on windows)




Some news about Arkeos Chronicle (my fantasy RPG cartoon) :

I have made the new ingenior character (to feet the game style) , and she's animated of course :
We can play with this beautiful girl .



New feature :
- Bank : You can use it to stock your objects.



- New map : 7_2 (region 7, map2)


I will post a new version on googleplay soon (I have to test a lot my bank feature before ^^), probably tomorrow.

I've seen your source. I think you should try LoadSoundOGG. I'm at work and can't test it now, but it should work. And for the music there is of course LoadMusicOGG.

Ah ok. I haven't used ogg files in years not since I was developing in Monkey X. I have been using .wav files for sounds and .mp3 for music. I was just doing this to help out Blendman.

I do remember at one time using ogg because it was ao much smaller years ago but it seems like I spent several days testing out various formats for maximum compatibility and arrived at .mp3 and .wav but I don't remember now exactly. Anyway I had no idea there were dedicated functions just for loading ogg files I thought the loadsound function just looked at the file extension and routed to the appropriate decoding routine internally.

Will test tonight MadBit! This may be exactly the issue Blendman's game is running into. Blendman are you using the LoadSoundOgg function or LoadSound to load these ogg files?

Yes, it was that. I used loadmusicogg, but not playmusicogg.

I have update arkeos chronicle, my 2d rpg fantasy for android on googleplay :

- new factorys (plants, food), and change ui for other factory (mine, wood)
- new crafts
- new objects
- new character loony
- music should be ok (no sound for this version)
- bank
- pnj mission for daily quest
