Hey everyone!

I've been meaning to release the source code of an old game I made in Darkbasic Pro a few years ago for quite a while now, and with the news that DB is going open source itself I thought; what better time to release it than now. So here's a download with the compiled game, as well as source code included.

3D Air Hockey is a very basic game. It's the first game I've actually completed and released, and although the game and code isn't exactly state-of-the-art I hope it can help someone out there in their learning process. The forum has helped me so much in learning game development though the years so I'd be happy to answer any questions about the code or explain any mysterious parts of it.

The media, including source code can be used for any purpose, no conditionals

Requirements:
WinRAR
DirectX 9.0c

Original project thread:
Forum Thread

Final game with source code:
Game & Source

Remember to run as administrator if you want to be sure your progress is saved for next time you load up the game

Cheers!

Hey Conor nice job
Don't get discouraged by the lack of answers

Did you use any physics for this?

Dropbox requires a login-account. Though the download becomes impossible .... if I do not want to open an account on dropbox.

its a pitty

@Morcilla: Thanks for the boost I just used raycasting between the previous and current position of the objects to detect collision. No physics engines, as it's quite basic

@Attila: You don't need a dropbox account. Just click the link I provided in the first post and then click the download button and it'll download. What's the problem?

Hi Conor B,

Been away from this place for quite some time. Just returned and saw this thread. Took a look at it and it runs great. The 7 year old is having a hoot with it. This is a good lesson for our daughter (she is going into graphic arts and programming) so she is happy to see how a program is actually constructed and such. It was easier to show her this project than one of my more "longer" projects.

We appreciate this.

Regards
