Somewhere along the line of the last updates FPS colors turned weird. I use an umodded FPSC 1.20 with the latest unofficial patch

When I use lights in my map, I get irregular pink and green specks on all my segments and static entities, especially using white light and white/grey/black stuff.
They do not relate to the texture, so a 3-segments wide wall has the specks in a different pattern on every segment, so it seems to relate to the light source.

Turning shaders, bloom and post-processing off didn't change anything and a maxed out lightmap quality didn't improve things either.

Everything is ok in bright light (or no lights at all), but the darker the light settings get, the more everything (segments & static entities) gets colored with pink and green specks - especially on grey and white colors.
In this example you can see how it gradually becomes worse on the grey concrete floor and how obvious it's on the snow-white tiles on the left:https://thestoryteller01.files.wordpress.com/2016/03/snapshot2.jpg

And it's not just me, check out these screenshots from several games in the WIP section and you'll see what I see.

"M Invasion": https://forum.thegamecreators.com/attachment/76872
"The Whisperer": http://postimg.org/image/k6z8fu8oz/

It's also visible in the pics for "Explore with Bobby -The Asylum" but only if you look for it and only if its not grenlit (which obviously masks the green specks): https://forum.thegamecreators.com/thread/215173
But it's completely absent in "Super Awesome Dungeon Crawler": https://forum.thegamecreators.com/thread/215287

So what is triggering this weird behavior?
In case you find my grammar and spelling weird ---> native German speaker ^^

It may be due to using a lower lightmap resolution and quality. Have you tried increasing them?

I don't see them in the images for some reason, but it sounds like an issue with either bump mapping or normal mapping, maybe in the code itself, as both sometimes create those types of pink and green specks when they don't display right for whatever reason.

I believe they switched to a more aggressive level of compression for shadow maps to reduce file size.

Changing the size of the maps unfortunately doesn't affect the quality or reduce compression artifacting.

It was a big part of my stopping using FPSC. Got depressed looking at scenes like this http://imageshack.com/a/img860/4854/snapshot14o.png

This problem is fixed in the last unofficial beta.

Hi everyone

Black Ice Mod uses uncompressed lightmaps so you may want to go ahead and download the latest v9.0 just released last week.
http://www.blackicemod.org/

*You must be using FPSC update v120 17A with Black Ice Mod.
