Hello

I have an Android Lenovo A10 Tablet.

How does broadcasting work.

Do I need to install an App on the Tablet or something to be able to broadcast APK packages to - or is It just simple as chips - like compile without errors and then press the broadcast button and few mins later - it
magically appears on the tablet as an installed App/Game?

- In the device properties, Is the Port OK? 5689

- Device IP address, Ill assume this is the IP address of the tablet (it will have a internal IP address, cause it will be running through my home wifi network) if that doesn't matter

Will be trying these out early next week - so that I can prepare and design games according to the Tablet resolution sizes correctly

and then start and push out my apps in Dec (black Friday) on Steam / Steam GreenLight and Google Play

1. Download AppGameKit Player from the App store
2. Start the AppGameKit Player on your tablet
3. Click broadcast in the IDE.

The IP address is only for debugging. If you want to debug the app on your tablet, then set this to your tablet local network IP address.

This is only for testing, not installing. To install, you need to export as an APK file.

This works great to broadcast

but, is it a bug or is there a way round this:-

- Created a game

- First time broadcasted - great - receives all the files - plays ok

- Fine tune the game with adding additional PNGs for sprites etc

- Send to broadcast again

It doesn't seem to want to upload the new png's etc etc and keep getting cannot load the new image files

Or is there a mb limit for an APK file - doubt it but just thought to ask

Anyone else had the same quirk or Is there something I'm missing to do?

Worked round it by uninstalling the AppGameKit player and reinstall on the tablet

and it did a full receive again of the game

So maybe something to do with cache.

But it could become a pain in the bum uninstalling and reinstalling each time

So if anyone got any solutions, would be absolutely grand

I do not know if this has anything to do with your issue, but Android and Linux has case sensitive filesystems, Windows do not. To make things more complicated if you are working on Windows, Windows does some "prettying" to filenames, like showing the first letter in a filename as uppercase regardless if it is uppercase or lowercase. You can turn of this prettying in Windows showing the filename exactly as it is, search for "Windows dont pretty path". So on Android and Linux, Picture.png is not the same as picture.png.

I haven't had the problem you are experiencing. Resources always refresh themselves.

It maybe well be a "path" \ "filename" \ case sensitivity" \ cache issue

Ill check it all out when I'm ready to distribute to Android later in month

Thanks @cybermind and @BatVink
