Hello all,

I'm trying to compile a simple desktop app for Linux (using Debian Jessie, NVidia Graphics card, native resolution 1920x1080).

I set the fullscreen-parameter in "SetWindowSize" explicitly to "1" as in

SetWindowSize( 1920, 1080, 1 )

but I *always* get a window, no fullscreen.

I also tried to set the "VirtualResolution" to something like 1024, 768 (and even 1920,1080), but also no fullscreen here.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

Manuel

This sounds like a bug to me. I don't use Linux so I've never experience this.

The SetWindowSize command controls whether a game is full screen or not. The VirtualResolution simply controls the resolution on the screen or within the window.

Thanks for clarifying that, this was my understanding from the documentation too.

So I was surprised not to see it working "as advertised".

Is there any "official" way to post a bug report then?

Hey Mash! Just saw your post... don't worry, there are other Linux users here!
You're right, full screen seems to fail. Thanks for bringing it up!

As for reporting bugs "officially": click the green "help" icon on the bottom right.

Another Linux user here.

Just tried to verify this bug on my build, and can confirm that fullscreen won't work on my machine either. Ubuntu 16.04, laptop with nVidia gtx950m using latest drivers (v375).

On a slightly related note - there are subforums for all other OSes and systems, but not Linux?! This need be fixed, no?

As a sidenote: The team is on a vacation now. Paul will not able to fix this in the next few weeks.
Suboforum Linux +1

Maybe also a (semi)public bugtracker. That is much more organized.

I've sent my bugreport via the contact-form.

BTW: I'd also appreciate a Linux-subforum.

Ubuntu 16.04! (64-bit, Intel i7 quad, 16GB RAM, nVidia GeForce.)

I've suggested a Linux sub-forum before but got no response. Perhaps this thread will be more persuasive?

as workaround you can create setup.agc file in your application directory:

post any bugs as separate threads in AGK Product Chat forum.

@MikeHart: I'm using Debian Jessie, as stated in my first post.

@Scary Little Rabbit: Wow, thank you very much - this works!

Where can I read more about the file and functions/variables of "setup.agc"?
I did not find anything in the "App Game Kit Tutorial Guide" about this file. :-\

mash, I suppose it's undocumented. it came from AppGameKit version 1. I don't know if anything else is possible with it.

@DEVs: thank you for fixing this bug so fast!

@Scary Little Rabbit: thanks - it now works as expected also without using "setup.agc"!
