Does FPSC have particle effects? That would probably be the least resource-intensive method.

Yea, that wourld be using post-process shaders, but it looks weird when looking up and down. decals is probably the best looking way.. By the way, is it You on the photo?

@ Mr Love Your screen shots look great
Have you thought of trying an animated "hud" type of snow?

@Mr. Love Thanks for the tip, I'd wondered about that myself, but hadn't had a chance to investigate the options available. That's just an avatar. I won't post pics of myself on public forums, too many unsavory types in this world.

Yeah, but when you look upwards, I don't think it would look as if snow is falling 'towards' your face, it will still appear falling in front of you ...

Maybe you can use a decal particle entity and change its script to always move with the player? I think the $EPX/Y/Z are CHANGEABLE internal variables and not read-only as the unofficial syntax list says ....

Yes I know that, Its almost better without snow then using shaders or sprites...

Mr Love Do you still need a "snow falling" particle? I just may have something that
kind of works. Particle, not decals. Player can look up and around at it and snow falls downward.
Not the best, but close.

Yep! I think the idea was right, but when I used more than 2-3 particles the look changed and become "flat", and looked more like fireworks than snow. Thanks anyway... (I think this is a bug in the engine)

If any of you guy's who own the weather pack want to give Mr Love a copy of the snow effect you may do so

In fact as an afterthought if one of you were to send me an e-mail or pm I would send you written permission release the entire pack free here on the forums, but you need to host it yourself ,happy fourth July.

there are scripts for global and area weather zones plus decals for windows and such. Its pretty easy to set up.
