Hi. This game was working fine on my computer. But two days ago I formatted my pc and all games except Kshatriya Challenges work good. This game fails to start. It says "FPSC Game has stopped working" Problem signature log:

When I start the game in windowsXP compability mode it says: "DirectX 9 installed. Requires DirectX 9c. " But I have directX 11 !!

I tried to solve problem by starting program as administrator, same errors. I tried the DEP method (exception in data execution prevention), same errors. Note: other similar games (darkbasic and fpsc games) work without problem, for example : Into the darkness, Dead House.

I don't want to install directx 9c over directx11 because that could mess with my other games.

So the question is simple, How can get this game working again ?

You can have both versions installed. We all have them installed on our computers.

Actually I did that today but the problem isn't solved. It no more says that dx9c is required, but game still fails to start. it gives the same ''fpsc game has stopped working'' error. This is so bad. I really like this game but it won't start. help me somebody.

Forget about my previous post. I found that game. Remaining problem is this. The game "Into the darkness" works fine on my pc, BUT When i dive in water it quits with error message: "Runtime Error 7721 - Effect number is illegal at line 4673". How can i fix this ? I tried the game with msvcp71.dll and msvcr71.dll files but that did not solve the problem. I downloaded it from here http://www.indiedb.com/games/into-the-dark/downloads/into-the-dark-100-playable-l5-public-alpha-cut

How can this be fixed ?

It is the alpha version of that game. The main game is available on steam and the developer releases steam keys for free during holidays.

I understand, but don't you have even slightest idea about whats wrong and what can be done about it ? I never used steam and probably never will. Your help would be great, it quits with the error only when I dive the water.
