Looking great Cliff

love the new art, blink sure has a great style of art and I love the gore.

Careful of too much gore tho I think google play has strict rules depending on what classification of game
Personally I try and keep family friendly and gain a larger potential audience. Bit hard to make a 3d shooter
family friendly and fun but just a thought most like gore and becareful of classifications

I have Linux players that tested it for me where it works????

But it where on older version of agk.

They more had issues with the player it self neaded files installed to work properly.

Iam going to try to investigate this some more…

Do you have a viedo or something where i could see the issue?

Thanks thats great
I watched the video and se directly that its probably a issue with the irrattic Linux cord bug
Now do i have something to work with..

The gui bug is more or less that i use set scissor 0,0,0,0 and only used a black sprite to make it loook right at the bottom.
Never thought of the older displays so this is great…

will try to have a update tonight or tomorrow.

Will also add in some classic keyboard only controls

arrow keys to turn left/right

up/down to fire main and secondary and shift for use…

Thanks and keep the video up so i can loook at it...

I have alot of work at the factory so iam a bit tired but should have something done by friday night.

rabbit there is a new version to test up for Linux where i now use vsync instead and mouse speed can be set from 2.0 to 32 with the tab key ingame.
Also fixed the error on squared monitors.

Let me know if there still is problems or this one works?

If its ok so will i optimize it some more and make it an official update.

it is better but I suppose you use some specific damping technique above raw input or something. it feels quite irritating. and as for me "2" as value for stepping multiplier for mouse speed is not good (2, 4, 8, 16, 32). I have recorded another video for you where at the end I show some extremely simple mouse input technique on top of AGK's 3D-FirstPersonExample example which I like a much more as a player — https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgHCcoaa7a8

I feel myself special. nope, it is not better. it is worse actually.
Quote: "It feels a bit fast?"

surprisingly fast. I even cannot believe it is the same code. are you sure you do not apply some additional camera rotation elsewhere? maybe some variables are integer and there is a rounding error somewhere because of a cast to integer type? and also do you apply you 2-32 mouse speed multiplier as inputScaleMouse#?

Rabbit test 3.4 where i now use a modified scalar from 0.5 to 1.5 should fit better…
0.5 / 0.75 / 1.0 / 1.25 / 1.5 is the new values.

No i dont use any extra code
But the engine have bin optimized alot and runs at optimal speed mostly…

Do you have same problems on 30 fps?

Could be some issue where it renders everything a bit high on 60 fps?
I dont have it but only a thought.

I found myself using 0.5.

no worries i want it to work on as many hardware as possible.

I mentioned I was going try to this game out a few months ago and I finally did a few minutes ago. First, the game is very polish and graphics art style is superb. I tried a few games people made using AppGameKit and Pixelstein is the most polished game released using AppGameKit in my opinion.

Now, the control for touch screen was good but have you considered allowing user to swipe screen for turning? Single tap anywhere for shooting? I think it will ma ke it more optimize for mobile devices.

I'm glad to see great games created with AppGameKit!

Thanks 2d analyst its nice to hear
I worked on and off for a while with pixelstein during a year but belive the last 4 months made it wath it is today…
It where when i purchased a large stock of assets for it and blinkok made some very nice artwork for it.
Its always good to return to old games and rework at some points so maybe i add in more controller options.
Cheers.

Be sure to review it if you like it at the app store.

Absolutely, I will rate it for sure. Is Pixelstein a hybrid of both 2D and 3D? I noticed the environment is definitely 3D, but the enemies and objects are 2D? I think with 3D it's easier to move camera for the world, whereas 2D it'll be based on tiles. Was it mostly you who worked on the game or did it involved a team?

The enemies are 3d planes and gives the game a uniqe look i like with a retro feel.
The editors and game engine and everything around it is coded entirely by me and play8bitars is a one man team so far.

But it would be nothing without all help from comunity members to solve problems and the list would be to long to list here..
Feedback and help with code snippets is a huge part of creating the game and pixelstein would never happen without a great agk comunity and its members.

Still so boring to read google app store reviews like this…..

I give 1 star but if you make it run better on a samsung frame will i give it 5 stars

Samsung frame is a mobile with 1 GHz single core cpu and about 256 mb internal memory running android 4.1.

They dont even bother to look and see that there is a settings page where they can set draw distance and sett all kind of things on and off for better performance.
I cant publish a app with lowest settings as default.
When the majority of the 4700 + downloads are using more modern phones with android 6 and higher.

I've gotten allot of 1 star reviewers saying they can't run the game so of course it's 1 star! It's like look buddy, it's not my fault you have an old crappy phone.

It's like trying to run Destiny 2 on a Commodore and giving it a 1 star review because I can't get it to run...I mean seriously, the developer needs to take in consideration every platform ever created and make sure their game runs flawless no matter what!

Iam making a final super duper thingy to make it run on even crapp phones and its final and then i dont care
Iam making splitt compression on all grafix so i can force the game to use less gpu memory on old phones.
gui
walls
entitys
can now separately be controlled to load a rezised smaller image etc.
Update will be done in about 1-2 weeks and would be fun to release when the game reaches 5000+ downloads on google play.
It have 4736 now
Top right numbers are the gpu memory in mb.
