Hi All,

Here a quick preview and the start of a development log for JimJams Games' latest project, The Amazing Adventures of Lady Fanny Featherstone.

This time we're shifting our focus to a puzzle platformer, set on a mysterious island. Can our good Lady solve the secret of the strange island and escape with bunch of loot?

More details soon.

Hi all,

We're finally ready to share a basic video of Fanny Featherstone in action. We're nearing the end of development now, for our retro inspired puzzle/platformer. Unlock the mystery of the strange island, apparently trapped in time.

Looking good! Also really like the focus of your company JimJams Games as described on Steam. It is pretty much exactly what defined my mission statement when I considered going Indie a year or so ago. Making retro style goodness. Wish you all the best with this!

Top quality work, I really like the layering effects, character art and blurred backdrop.

@Chris Tate - Thanks for the kind words. More to come very soon.

@Cliff Mellangard - There is some media from the assets packs, they are great value for money and as you say, do save a lot of time.

Work on The Amazing Adventures has moved on a lot in the last few days. We've added a whole host of new feature, and we've only a couple more on our checklist to code.

Here's another little peek of our progress, with a preview of the islands cave network.

Another update as it appears that we're on a roll today.

This time we can reveal the mystery of the centre of the island as our good Lady explores it's strange depths.

I like the graphics, I just have two nitpicking things. One, the character looks rather tiny, just doesn't seem to really stand out in the level to me. The other is the jumping. It looks like the acceleration for jumping and falling stays constant.

I kind of agree, I'm looking to source a new character sprite, but I'm struggling to find anything I like more.

I've been wondering about this. It's based on the styled of the 1980's, where falling and jumping where often the same, but I'm considering adding some variation as you say.

Thanks for feedback,

Hi All,

We're back with another update for The Amazing Adventures of Lady Fanny Featherstone. Lots of tweaks internally, and some great extended gameplay. We're looking at a Steam Submission very soon, with a commercial release sometime in May 2018.

Enjoy,

Hi All,

Here's a quick update. This isn't actually a level, but a sample of some of the gadgets available to the Lady Featherstone as she seeks to solve the mystery of the island.

That’s very low?! How many levels/worlds are there? How many hours of gameplay do you think there are?

We try to keep our prices low where possible, with competition on Steam so high, the lower prices keep sales steady.

There will be 8 levels, and at a guess the game will take about 3 hours to play through if you know what you're doing.

i love all the gadgets, and looks like they give some impressive gameplay, nice work.

Something feels off about the jumping though. the max height may be a little too high, and the speed of the arc seems too constant and linear, like it should start fast and ease as it reach the apex, then accelerate again as you descend.

The jumping was designed with a certain retro look in mind, but you're not the first person to mention this, and I think I'll take a look at it again. Thanks for the feedback.

Congrats! Have you integrated steam achievements or progress file saves? Is the steam process easy or not?

Well done on your release. I know how long these things take!!

@Both- Thanks.

@DavidAGK - Yes, for it's first release we've added 17 achievements and limited cloud saves. The process for both is pretty easy.

Cool , glad to hear! I have great fear of my eventual steam integration!

Did you use one of steam's built in copy protection too?

No, we've gone for an internal solution, as to be honest, the Steam protection, while good can cause issues and can still be broken. (Like any protection).
