Was the attachment on this forum? Or was it on RGT in the link your post provided? Cause if it's on RGT it's long gone. Unless someone has an archive of the retro competition entries, which I believe you had to include the code with submission.

That link isn't a forum hosted by TGC so we wouldn't have the file. There was nothing attached to the post so I assume you mean it was on the page you linked.

RGT...I thought it may be around if they had an archive.

I didn't submit it for any compo. Just shared the EXE and media.

I still have the old computer back in the States with the game...will it boot is another matter Perhaps I can pull the drives and look at them in another machine..

I believe RGT and LLRGT were created by danny wartnaby (if I remember his name correctly). It was a popular DB site, but not the official forum. The official site eventually turned into this one. Sadly, I can't find anything on RGT on the wayback machine.

Ahh..I thought Real Game Tools was the original name for DB and DBPRO company when they were released. In fact, I thought that was where I bought my DBPRO box copy from.

Guess I was mistaken.

From what I call, Danny Wartnaby parted ways with the DB community and took RGT with him.
RGT was also responsible for the editor, which suffered as a result of its departure.
Or did Danny pick up where RGT left off, and then petered out for a second time?

Maybe somebody can confirm?

That's quite possible because I bought DBP from them as well.

He either started the original RGT, or picked up and called it Long Live RGT (LLRGT). Regardless, rumor I heard back then was he had some major personal life stuff going on and would no longer be able to continue the site. I think a person or two knew the actual details but that's all they would say about it.

So if I remember correctly, RGT started as the US distributor for Darkbasic software (later to become TGC) and was run by Guy Savoie. I think he wrote Darkedit (the first real editor for DB classic) and later the DBPro editor. There was a long time where there was no forum on the Darkbasic website so the forum on RGT got really big and when the DB forum came back a lot of people stayed there. It had a different community and feel to the official forum so was kept going by Danny as LLRGT when RGT shut down.

I could well be wrong though. You guys have been around as long as me!

Yeah...it's been a long time, but the name sounds familiar.
