I'm doing something so simple, I can't work out why it fails. It worked 3 months ago, and now it throws an error - "Could not find file Rockwell"

It passes the GetSystemFontExists() test. I then write "Load Font Rockwell" to my log file. The Rockwell system font exists. But it fails to load???

Ive just tried loading the "Rockwell" font really quick on my machine and it works fine

The text displays fine with the Rockwell font. So...How do you know it hasnt loaded? Or what is it not doing that it used to do? I assume you have definately Set the font to the text somewhere??

Have you checked that the font is definitely on your machine??

Just for reference...im on Windows 10 - 64bit and ive not intentionally installed this font and assume it comes with windows.

I would guess it has something to do with the number of fonts installed

@bengismo, you can see in the code that I check the font exists before I try to load it, and it passes. On load, I get a fatal error.

We had a testing session on Slack, confirming that it broke in 2017.12.12. Previous version 2017.09.25 worked OK.

Ok, I was just saying that it is working in 12.12.2017 for me at least.

Good luck

Useful to know it works for you, so that Paul knows the problem may be inconsistent. We had the same problem on 2 PCs yesterday evening

Worse...Windows 10 Fall Creators edition - it destroys everything it touches - graphics drivers, VPN connections, software

I've run into all kinds of wacky access permission and privilege elevation issues with Creators update. Does it still fail if you run as administrator, or possibly from a different user profile?

I tested on 2 PCs with Creators update, both with Admin rights. Same result on both. I don't have a Win 10 PC without the update to compare it with.

I do.
My laptop hasn't been updated in over 6 months

I've just tested the font code and it works for me. So I presume it must be Microsofts latest 'fix' that has broken this.

Yeah, I tested on Windows 10 Pro 64bit ...no problem

Windows 7 machine failed to load any system fonts....it is dependant on the windows version.

This could be caused if SetErrorMode is set to 2, fixed for the next version
